Global Sourcing is part of the Finance organization and manages Visa’s end-to-end sourcing and procurement of goods and services. The Business Planning Operations and Center of Excellence team in Global Sourcing enables the organization’s success through people, process, program and operational management best practices

Overview

The Senior Director, Global Sourcing Center of Excellence role is a key member of the Global Sourcing Business Planning Operations and Center of Excellence team. This role will manage teams responsible for: Supplier Management, Reporting & Analytics, Organizational Development, Communications, Strategy & Planning. This role will report directly to the Vice President, Global Sourcing Business Planning & Operations who will provide support, management and oversight on all activities.

Key Results Areas and Responsibilities

  • Lead the Global Supplier Management Program team and center-led strategy across multiple divisions and regions to provide enhanced value to Visa through deeper partnerships with suppliers - segment supply base to ensure differentiated focus with most strategic and impactful supplier relationships, bringing increased value creation through the delivery of goods and services in accordance with contracted service levels, performance management, ESG initiatives, innovation, category management and strategy standards along with fact based supplier management tools and templates, and Sourcing in alignment with compliance and regulatory requirements (e.g. FFIEC, FBA, Bank of England etc.)
  • Develop and manage organizational Reporting and Analytics capabilities, delivering dashboards on metrics such as but not limited to Savings, Spend, Productivity, Cycle Time and Key Performance Indicators, ensuring Global Sourcing and its stakeholders have the data and insights to make rapid and effective decisions with an emphasis on accuracy
  • Develop and manage global sourcing organization and stakeholder training curriculum with implementation plans, ensuring relevant content by audience. Identify quantifiable ROI and categories like Regulatory, stakeholder, foundational, category strategy, professional development and more
  • Drive Sourcing’s transformation roadmap and forward-looking strategic plans. Build a future-forward vision that spans across people, processes, and systems, focused on continuous improvement and automation. Deliver intelligence on external best practices for Sourcing in support of Visa’s efforts in ongoing maturity enhancement
  • Manage project implementations, timelines, deliverables and change management from internal customers and stakeholders for Global Sourcing Center of Excellence initiatives identify roadblocks to success and solution options to move forward as supported by their managing VP
  • Engage and establish business partnerships with cross functional leadership including sourcing leadership, global and regional category directors, relevant stakeholders and business partners across Visa to collaborate, influence, and drive Center of Excellence programs and initiatives

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 12 or more years of Procurement/Purchasing experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of Procurement/Purchasing experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD): or a minimum of 5 years of Procurement/Purchasing experience with a PhD


Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive responsibility of Procurement/Purchasing experience within a fast-paced environment, spanning the areas of strategic sourcing, category management, supplier management and procurement operations with preference to Procurement Center of Excellence experience. Technology or Financial Services sector(s) experience a plus
  • 8+ years directly leading and developing a team
  • Professional accreditation in sourcing, procurement or project management a plus
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing strategic initiatives and programs, including but not limited to the execution of major tool/system implementations, automation efforts, end user training and communication, continuous improvement initiatives etc.
  • Strong relationship-management skills and ability to communicate effectively, and collaborate with, senior-to-exec management. You need to be able to tell compelling stories through insights and data
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and lead others in an ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable value to the organization by holding yourself and others accountable
  • Proven ability to execute independently and operate successfully within a matrix/team structure
  • Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and to identify new ways to approach old problems
  • Ability to identify and pursue multiple initiatives simultaneously and deliver superior results

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and presentation skills and an ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on course of action
  • Ability to clearly identify what success looks like for deliverables, articulate messages to relevant stakeholders and executive leadership in a timely manner
  • Strong proficiency in purchasing systems and organizational interfaces (including, Ariba, Oracle and Risk management tools)
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set and approach to problem solving
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Excel Advanced, PowerPoint,Outlook. PowerBI a plus

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 174,600.00 to 240,000.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
