Job Description

Visa Inc. needs Sr. Systems Administrator to be responsible for providing systems and application support across, in particular the Visa Corporate systems environment. This position requires applying root cause operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities to keep the services up and running. This is a senior professional level position and requires strong execution and analytical abilities.

The successful candidate will be a member of the End User Operations team who is in charge ofmaintaining and ensuring that the Corporate Productivity Applications are running at the optimum level. The team is also in charge in administering the Windows and Linux server OS and its relevant components, Hardware and Virtual based platform where most of the corporate applications are running.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide Systems Administration to core Corporate IT Windows Server Platforms and Application like Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. Active Directory Technologies, Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019 (on Premise) and O365 (Cloud).
  • Perform system/server security remediation and ensure that the system and application are on up to date patch levels and conform to the security standard.
  • Support the development and incorporation of best practices and approaches into the company´s processes and methodologies.
  • Participate in determination of root cause/solution analysis for service failure and support escalation.
  • Operate in complex, highly secure, and highly available, operations environments and interact with the technology domain experts required to maintain those environments.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service, pro-active review of processes and procedures to continually enhance service quality, service delivery and support.
  • Willing to work closely with areas across Visa including, Operations, Engineering, Service Product office, and Global Open System Development Lines.
  • The candidate will be heavily involved in ensuring team meets all SLA's and team objectives.
  • Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity and security.
  • Monitor incident queues, troubleshoot issues and lead conference calls with other groups to mitigate impacts.
  • Work with Engineering teams (Windows, UNIX/Linux, Network, Storage and Middleware) to translate application requirements into system requirements.
  • Maintain, enhance and support, through problem analysis and resolution for the supported applications
  • Application performance and data optimization (including network optimization).
  • Will be expected to work weekends and/or on-call rotation.
  • Able to multi task and make decisions based on technical knowledge.
  • Motivated personality who is able to proactively identify additional ways to add value and contribute to a technical team.
  • Lead and collaborate with small to medium sized teams working in an onsite/offshore mode
  • Ensure team meets all SLA's and team objectives.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Windows server 2019 (Core)/2016.
  • Experience supporting virtual environments using VMWare 7.x and Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (Citrix 7.x LTSR), Active Directory Technologies, Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019 (on Premise) and O365 (Cloud).
  • Must have strong commitment to execution, follow through and timely communication.
  • Must have knowledge about file transfer mechanism, file transfer flow, file encryption/decryption, ssh, ssh-keygen etc.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5-7 years of systems administrator experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Good problem solving skills with focus on troubleshooting issues in complex production environments.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and software, thinking out of the box, questioning the norm and innovative.
  • A good team player with excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a global environment
  • Experience supporting Physical servers (HP/DELL)
  • Experience with Service Now, MS Azure, and O365, system health and performance monitoring tools as well as content replication tool Globalscape SFTP, Repliweb

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
  • Experience with GlobalScape SFTP/EFT application – or at least solid understanding of SFTP/FTP, ssh and pgp.
  • Experience with SharePoint on-prem or SP Online.

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 111,200.00 to 144,500.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
