Job Description

Position Summary:

The Workload Automation & Scheduling group is responsible for engineering and support of the Workload Automation IT infrastructure for Visa Inc. and VisaNet via Vendor Tools and Homegrown Web Application Utilities. The team is responsible for all technical aspects of design and build for the Workload Automation lifecycle from project initialization, system installation, application test & build and maintenance, operational support to application and system decommissioning. This role is an Advanced SME individual contributor role responsible for identifying and resolving issues of moderate to high complexities to do with Visa’s Workload Automation Scheduling, VFT/MFT. This position is at a professional level and requires strong execution and analytical abilities to diagnose, mitigate and resolute small to highly complex events. This role works independently and receives minimal guidance providing out of the box solutioning, innovation and keeping up with the latest industry innovative workload automation processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engineer, Design and build new application services from PD within Workload Automation Tools (BMC Control-M & Broadcom ESP & dSeries)
  • Excellent Problem Determination skills to ensure mitigation time is kept to a minimum in meeting SLA and uptime expectations.
  • Strong experience with Agile development incorporating Workload Automation tool / Batch processing into Full CI/CD technologies such as GIT, Maven, Jenkins, Chef, Sonar, JUnit, Mock frameworks. To ensure version control is followed.
  • Perform installation and support for the Workload Automation platform running on Linux and Prostgress DB systems with the help of IRE and vendor’s engineers to ensure patch level are current and we’re clear of any vulnerabilities.
  • Advance understanding to write and integrate into WA tools scripts for automation in the following languages as well new technologies NodeJS, MVS JCL & REXX, HTTPs API, JSON, Python, HTML, XML, Shell and JavaScript.
  • Proactively work with Ops PRE, PD and or vendors to provide a resilient, flexible and fit for purpose solution around Workload Automation for Visa’s & M&A’s internal and external customer resolving issues and system problems. Gather requirements set up meeting internally as well as with our vendors to engineer solutions.
  • Consulting with and supporting capacity planning efforts to ensure our tooling has the capacity to manage the workload executed via those tools.
  • Provide 24X7 production support of Visa operations. Requires on-call rotational support for geographically dispersed data centers.
  • Ensure that all server deployment follow Visa security guidelines and report any non-compliance for the Workload Automation Platform.
  • Communicate and work cordially in global team with teammate from different culture and in time zone.
  • Manage workload and escalate to appropriate Engineers and manager, as needed.
  • Work with other support, development, and user groups to manage requests from the perspective of automation and BRP failover design and functionality. Implementing a Red Button solution as well as engineering self-service solutions.
  • Work with vendors on software issues and problems as needed.
  • Basic use of documentation tools, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point.
  • Assist with the WA engineers to set up working sessions with technical leaders and users from all levels to promote the Workload Automation capabilities to ensure teams have appropriate knowledge and expertise of Visa’s Batch processing strategy.
  • Act as Change Coordinator to Process, Assign and Report Enterprise tooling changes assigned to Gsched & Workload Automation working with Ops, PRE & PD groups.
  • Provide guidance for Junior & peer engineers on technical knowledge and processes.
  • Participate with Sr. Engineers in setting up product demo sessions with the Vendor and internal ATC’s & PD Architects

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.


Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong working knowledge of Linux , Windows, Mainframe & Tandem operating systems
• Strong working knowledge of Workload Automation Tools (dSeries, Control-M & ESP)
• Strong Ability to write scripts for automation. Windows,Unix,NodeJS,MVS JCL & REXX,API,JSON, Python, HTML, XML, Shell and JavaScript.
• Strong working knowledge of Databases, Java, JavaScript & Hadoop. (Execute DB queries to extract data from a Postgres DB, Strong ability to review and understand Java, JavaScript & Hadoop on Scheduling Definitions to resolve or provide solutions for verbalized Job Names & Date Parameters)
• Strong ability to apply Project Management Skills
• Advanced knowledge of Workload Automation Scheduling experience is required (Requires that the individual has at lease 5+ years of Workload Automation Scheduling Experience as well as Tool Admin experience)
• Experience with installation, maintaining, and implementation of code and vendor software.
• Working knowledge of documentation tools, such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Power Point.
• Ability to work with management and users from all levels of knowledge and expertise.
• Must exercise a reasonable amount of independent judgment under minimum supervision.
• Ability to assess and analyze technical situations and provide viable alternatives with Strong problem determination skills
• Meticulous and experience in supporting critical systems, and can work independently.
• A keen interest to learn new skills and technology through online resource.
• Additional Information
• Significant (3 or more years) systems engineering or programming experience.
• 5 or more years total Information Technology experience.
• Team player with strong communication skills.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 106,600.00 to 138,600.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
