Job Description

The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) is a key component of the Value-Added Services (VAS) PD within Visa. VAS-RaIS has a suite of high visibility, high-volume, revenue earning applications that provide solutions related to Risk Management, Identity and Authentication. Our capabilities are used extensively by key players in the payment eco-space across the globe. As Senior Technical Product Manager, you will collaborate with the product teams to create requirements document and work with the program management and the engineering team to ensure timely delivery of solutions for VISA clients and partners.  You will participate in solution architecture design and API specifications to ensure that the solution is extensible and can scale to support multiple regions.  Successful candidate will be skilled at forging strong partnerships with business sponsors, product owners, architects, and developers to define feature sets, story maps, detailed user stories (functional and non-functional) to support the development process. This role is an individual contributor role that requires to work with executives across product and engineering orgs.

Essential Functions

The ideal candidate for this position will have more than twelve years of experience in technology as a developer or technical product manager working in an agile development environment. 

  • Own delivery of multiple projects from technical requirements and quality assurance perspective.
  • Develop of a comprehensive product execution strategy and align with the product roadmap to drive the usage of RaIS products.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other TPMs and members of the development team.
  • Evangelize the platform, capabilities, and the tools of the VRM team within the rest of the organization.
  • Create high level project development estimates based on prior experience and complexity of the project.
  • Develop understanding of existing VISA products and services and apply that knowledge to create solutions for Risk and Identity domain and external VISA clients product requests.
  • Technical product management functions including functional specs, product and platform roadmap, issue/risk management, and definition of success criteria for the projects.
  • Ability to do high-level system design and message flows to represent the implementation of the requirements
  • Interface with various technology teams and business stakeholders to gather complete requirements and converting them to functional specs, prioritizing, and driving execution.
  • Be the customer (internal product teams and external VISA clients) seat in the engineering team.  Should have deep passion for satisfying customer needs and influencing design and priority appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the program management team to define parallel tracks for the project and the milestones within each track.  Continue to ensure that the project is on-track and be accountable to address any roadblocks.
  • Work closely with the engineers and contribute to the development of design artifacts and quality assurance test plans
  • Plan and conduct User Acceptance Testing with key stakeholders, Bug bashes, and hackathons
  • Own and develop clear and concise product collateral in order to document the pilot requirements and technical architecture document.  
  • Responsible for ensuring that weekly status reports are sent to the stakeholders and partners.
  • Manage multiple projects in different geography simultaneously and ensure on-time/quality delivery

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office threes days a week, with a general guidepost of being in the office half of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 7 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 4 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

•10+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 13+ years of relevant work experience
• 12 or more years of relevant experience in technical product and program management.
• Educational background in Computer Science or Engineering. MBA is a plus
• Experience and knowledge of card present, card not present, and alternative payment methods, including details about their mechanics and use cases.
• Proven ability to manage complex products and projects through various, often competing priorities, constraints, and requirements.
• Customer champion with a proven track record of developing and executing a product vision based on deep understanding of customer needs.
• Proven leadership capabilities including strong thought leadership, effective decision making, and ability to drive for results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong emphasis on empathy to build relationships with internal Visa teams and clients.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and evaluate outcomes
• Reputation for being a collaborative thought partner and business leader, with ability to organize and motivate work across multiple team boundaries
• Ability to fully understand technical architecture, APIs and overall system design
• Management skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate product planning, development and user acceptance testing efforts
• Excellent communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels with flair for getting people excited.
• Experience in working with agile lifecycle and/or tracking and process management tools, e.g. JIRA, JIRA Align

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 139,800.00 to 181,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
