Job Description

Visa's Platform as a Service (PaaS) team collaborates with various product development teams, and other teams within Operations & Infrastructure organization to engineer, build and operate the most innovative, reliable, scalable, secure and cost-effective Observability platform solutions to meet VISA customers’ growing needs. 

You will be part of a team of engineers/System analysts who are focused on Visa's diverse technology stack, including public/private cloud/container platforms, integration architectures and associated life-cycle management of the systems. As part of this self-driven team, you will have total ownership of the solutions we provide to our customers focussing on availability, performance, security, and reliability aspects which are critical to platform success. You need to do this all at global scale, as well, so continual, iterative improvements in the process, technology, tools, and automation are essential. In this position, you will be a passionate and talented engineer that can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams.  Your strong technical leadership, problem-solving abilities, coding, testing and debugging skills are key for success.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years hands-on experience in DevOps functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Strong software development fundamentals and skills
  • Experience with Container platforms: Docker, K8S and alternatives
  • Experience with any Observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk/Humio and also tenants of Observability (Monitoring, Logging and/or tracing)
  • Experience with GitOps/Terraform/Cloud Formations/GCP Deployment Manager
  • Experience with any programming language: java/GoLang/Python
  • Experience working with Linux environment
  • Experience with CI/CD: pipeline management with GitHub, Ansible
  • Experience with provisioning and maintaining GCP/AWS services
  • GCP/AWS Cloud certifications

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 94,700.00 to 120,700.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
