Job Description

As an Engineering Manager, you will build a team of top-tier engineers to deliver on ambitious goals, ensuring our success as an organization. Your teams will build and maintain the technologies that powers our products. You will lead your team in building a high-performing hub that thrives and scales to adapt to our rapidly growing needs in this market. Your leadership will play a meaningful role in ensuring the quality and performance of our service. What You’ll Do

  • Lead a developer team, working closely with your product counterpart on building and maintaining the quality of our products
  • Collaborate with other internal engineering and platform teams to ensure we build the best solutions possible
  • Drive technical development and provide leadership in an innovative and fast-paced environment
  • Lead and scale a high performing engineering team, in an adaptive and agile way to deliver outstanding results
  • Remove obstacles, clarify goals and initiatives, and foster ownership and accountability to guide your team towards their objectives
  • Apply business results, metrics and insights in a data-driven way to improve and motivate your teams towards change and excellence
  • Mentor and coach engineers to help them grow with their own professional career goals.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree

OR

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in hands-on development 
  • At least 2 years of relevant people management experience
  • Experience with Core Java, Web technologies, JavaScript and container-based technologies.
  • Experience with translating business requirements into technical designs
  • Understanding of systems architecture and operational best practices for building and maintaining highly available / scalable applications.
  • Experience growing and coaching engineers towards excellence and high performance
  • Ability to lead teams in an adaptive and agile way, navigating a complex, high-change world in order to deliver results
  • Experience using business results, metrics and insights in a data-driven way to improve and motivate your teams towards excellence.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 138,500 to 180,000 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.  Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

Work Authorization: Authorization to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment for this position. Visa will not sponsor applicants for work visas in connection with this position. 

Work hours: Varies upon the needs of the department. 

Work Location: This position is located in our New York office, but we accept hybrid setups. 

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel less than 10% of the time. 

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
