Job Description
Within the Issuing Solutions team in North America, Data Processing Services (DPS) processes over half of all Visa Debit transactions and is the largest single prepaid processing platform for Visa prepaid transactions in the U.S. The team also partners with third-party companies outside of the U.S. to deliver value-added services through Visa-owned assets.
During the internship, you will work on one or more hands-on projects with the team. Our summer internship also equips you with social and professional networking events and developmental workshops, designed to provide you the resources and training to have an impactful summer.
Some examples of previous summer intern projects as part of Visa's global technical documentation team:
- Write and update content that helps Visa clients and staff understand how our products and systems work.
- Create artifacts such as technical reference specifications, product service descriptions, product implementation guides, API reference information, users guides for user interfaces, etc.
- Research products, analyze requirements, and partner with cross-functional subject matter experts to develop an understanding of the technical and business information needed to create and maintain content.
- Represent the technical writing team in planning, review, and business meetings with cross-functional project stakeholders
- Develop an understanding of important technical writing skills and concepts – topic-based authoring, DITA XML markup, content management systems, different output formats and channels, minimalism, user-centered design, etc.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Technical Communications, English, or a related field, graduating December 2023 or later
- Strong communications skills, specifically, the absence of repeated grammatical or typographical errors, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Research and analysis skills, both using source materials and through expert interviews and interaction
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products for Windows, including Word and Outlook
- Strong ability to collaborate
- Highly driven, resourceful and results oriented
- Good team player and excellent interpersonal skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and navigate through ambiguity
U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this
position is $25/hr to $30/hr USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
