Job Description

As Head of the Military and Veteran Program for Visa, you will be responsible for creating the foundation to build Visa’s first Military and Veterans program. This is an excellent opportunity to create best in class global programs, with the emphasis on building the necessary foundation to launch MVP at Visa, with areas such as Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Training and Development, and Social Awareness/Branding,

As a newer talent channel for Visa, this person will be leading the strategy, development, and implementation of Visa’s first mission to be viewed as an employer of choice for veterans, guard/reserve members and spouses across a wide-range of roles and locations globally  You will be a strategic partner to our People Partners and Business leaders, looking at ways how the Military programs can be a critical talent channel for our current and future talent needs.

What You'll Do

Build and lead the creation of a global strategic roadmap and playbook for Visa’s Military and Veteran programs to identify long term investments at Visa. Execute and implement the program through many facets including:

  • Lead the organization through change management of bringing in an additional channel of talent
  • Working alongside other partners, build the pragmatic components necessary for successful integration, onboarding, and training of military/veteran talent.
  • Identify Talent Acquisition investments across lines of businesses
  • Manage a team of military recruiters, including influencing the greater Talent Acquisition team best of class candidate engagement and sourcing strategies
  • Establish partnerships within the Military Branches and their local bases/communities
  • Evaluate optimal sourcing methodologies for the organization/s
  • Diagnose current status and develop a proposal for bespoke metrics and KPI’s, including a capability framework and development career options
  • Passionately drive results, think and act quickly, operate long-term and in the best interest of company goals
  • Energize, coach and develop teams. Uphold a high hiring and performance bar continuously and ensure top talent is stretched and rewarded
  • Think innovatively to drive results and use data to support decisions. We are a unique company and brand and thus need equally innovative strategies to hit our hiring goals. Scalability and sustainability are key success metrics
  • Partnering with MERG (Military Employee Resource Group)

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 10 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership/officer position with one of the military branches
• Experience in building a global MVP program supporting technical and non-tech hiring including programs, benefits, branding, and talent acquisition delivery

Preferred Qualifications:
• Deep understanding of recruiting methodologies and best-practices; track-record designing and structuring programs and developing metrics and KPIs
• Strong cultural awareness and demonstrated ability to work with remote stakeholders; mega regional or global scope of responsibilities strongly preferred
• Proven ability to provide consultation to senior leadership on strategic initiatives and a demonstrated ability to be a thought partner within and outside of your direct organization
• Proven track record of an inclusive and diverse sensibility in the approach to assessing and executing sourcing solutions
• Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities, with a people talent point of view grounded in systematic thinking and analytics
• A growth vs fixed mindset as demonstrated by having made big bets or taken some calculated risks, even if they didn’t prove to be successful
• Knowledge and experience in technology businesses including a familiarity with global Sourcing / Recruiting practices and policies
• Possesses a passion for excellence with the ability to inspire others to the highest standards through leading by example
• Must have the confidence to act quickly and decisively when it requires such agility
• Proven track record of hiring, developing, and deploying top talent at all level and an equal ability to consistently top-grade the organization while simultaneously reducing costs and time to fill.

• Individual who demonstrates grit while balancing with empathy
 

US Applicants Only: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 120,000 USD to 195,000 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity. Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
