Job Description

Ecosystem Security & Integrity (ESI) is a Global Risk group that is tasked with the role of upholding the security and integrity of the payment ecosystem through the interdiction of illegal and fraudulent activity.  This is achieved through the deployment of risk quality control and/or compliance programs.  The programs are deployed through Visa Rules and additional client guidelines and Visa performs quality control leveraging proprietary tools, specialized third party vendors, regional risk teams, and other stakeholders.   ESI also works with internal and external stakeholders to further its charter and initiatives.

The person in this role manages the overall design and deployment of the MIS (Management Information System), Analytics and platforms that support the Visa Integrity Risk Program. The objective of this role is to build-out state of the art tools and platforms that drive the overall effectiveness of the program. The person in this role will oversee the design, development and deployment of various discovery tools – some of which are/will be built internally, some are/will be contracted through specialized third-party vendors. The Senior Director will work with Technology to ensure proper workflow solutions are deployed that enable exchange of program activity between Visa and its clients, and between Visa and its vendors supporting discovery or other activities.  In addition, this position is responsible for ongoing MIS, providing insight into program activity and effectiveness.

Essential Functions

  • Develop ongoing MIS that provides oversight in Visa Integrity Risk program activity, including trends and discovery tool effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain a suite of advanced discovery methods and tools that seek and identify merchants operating outside of Visa Rules
  • Build-out Visa Transaction Laundering Detection models, leveraging AI/ML, that are targeted to the various merchant activities covered under the program
  • Develop the data strategy and lead its deployment to support robust continuous monitoring of merchant activity covered under the program
  • Working with Technology, develop target state architecture for workflow tools, data platforms and other technology solutions in support of the program
  • Regularly screen the market and assess third-party solutions that can be deployed to support discovery activities or support other aspects of the program
  • Maintain relationships with 3rd party vendors, and work with Sourcing in negotiation of contractual terms and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Manage the India-based Risk COE team that is dedicated to MIS and Analytics for the program

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

  • 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred qualifications:

  • 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD); PhD with 9+ years of experience
  • Strong Visa or Payments industry experience
  • Experience in design and deployment of technology platforms and tools, covering data solutions and/or workflow tools
  • Experience in delivering MIS and analytics, including the deployment of AI/ML models
  • Experience leading offshore teams
  • Self-starter who can communicate with a deep understanding of the company needs and enable people to move forward through complexity
  • Proven ability to create processes and implement them to drive top line results
  • Demonstrated cross-functional competence, having led/coordinated teams across functional areas in large, matrixed organizations
  • A clear record of strategic thinking, sound judgment and superior problem solving in the area of trust and security
  • Self-driven with strong leadership skills, with demonstrated excellence in leading diverse teams in a global environment
  • Flexible and creative thinker with strong execution skills, generate out-of-the-box solutions, manage ambiguity, anticipate the impact of decisions/initiatives and able to move seamlessly from high level concepts to details.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 181,800 to 250,000 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable).  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
