Job Description

Visa University Payments College is seeking a Curriculum and Certification Developer to join our effort to create exceptional training curriculum and certifications for our global clients and other learners.

As a Curriculum and Certification Developer, you will partner with Curriculum Architect(s) to plan, design, and develop learning content and certifications related to topics critical to Visa’s clients, employees, and students.

These courses and certifications will be aligned to content domain areas such as Payments Landscape, Fraud, Cybersecurity, Portfolio Management, Dispute Resolution, and Operations. You will follow, oversee, and evolve development processes as you take a hands-on approach in building training courses and drive the certification development process. You will work closely with internal and external subject matter experts, leaders, clients, vendors, advisory boards, and others to develop content and validation mechanisms. You will ensure that content aligns to the role-related knowledge, skills, and abilities required for learners to conduct their jobs optimally and successfully. You will also ensure that related curriculum and certification offerings are up-to-date and sustain relevancy and continuity.

Key Functions

The Curriculum and Certification Designer/Developer is a key member of the Product Team in the Payments College and is accountable for designing and building training and certification offerings based upon job-task analysis and other scoping exercises. This role has strategic elements related to scoping but is primarily execution-oriented including the following functions.  

  • Work hands-on, leveraging best practices of human-centered design to develop and build high-quality training courses and legally defensible certification exams that will be consumed by Visa client learners, Visa employees, and other learners in their effort to obtain increasing levels of competency in Payments and Payments-related knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Drive an ongoing and proactive process to scope and understand the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for people in-role at various experience levels within assigned content domain areas.
  • Ensure customer and stakeholder voices are heard as a part of the development process.
  • Drive quality management efforts by working to employ rigorous development processes, ensuring content is reviewed thoroughly, and incorporating feedback loops into each development effort.
  • Work in partnership with the Curriculum Architects, delivery teams, and operations team to monitor and measure learning products to improve offerings (accuracy, efficacy, and relevancy) and drive customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with operations and support teams to ensure learning products are implemented correctly and supported adequately.
  • Execute according to project plans to get learning products to market according to planned and agreed-upon schedules.
  • Work with subject matter experts to scope, plan and develop certification exams and corresonding curriculum. Work with operations teams, marketing teams and curriculum architects to bring exams and curriculum to market as professional certification offerings.
  • Work with and manage vendors to ensure certification exams are legally defensible.
  • Develop curriculum in a manner that supports going to market with various modalities such as in-person instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, digital (video), and semester-based (academic).
  • Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while ensuring delivery of best-in-class experiences.
  • Work collaboratively within the product team to drive continual process improvement by helping optimize processes and guidelines. Help Document new processes and improvements so they can continue to be used broadly with future other projects.
  • In partnership with Curriculum Architects, ensure that learning content is reviewed on a regular basis and updated/revised as required.
  • Develop rapport and trust with subject matter experts (SMEs), key stakeholders, and partners. Work with Curriculum Architects to build a SME pool (list of go-to SME resources) who can help build, maintain, and review existing and new content.

This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

This is a fully-remote role. The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 94,200 USD to 153,000 USD.  Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location of applicant.  In addition, this position is eligible for bonus and equity.  Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position is eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSH/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time off, and Wellness Program.
