Job Description and Responsibilities

Based in Stockholm, the Manager, Corporate Communications, Nordics & Baltics, will be responsible for leading and successfully implementing external and internal communication activities and campaigns. An administrative mindset and a willingness to take lead on internal processes, are also important characteristics to fully leverage this role.


Reporting directly into the Head of Corporate Communications Nordics & Baltics, the Manager should be curious, business-focused and enjoy taking on new projects. Being a self-starter and comfortable working in a matrix environment where stakeholder management is essential, are keys to succeed.


Excellent storytelling and strong media relations skills are well needed to contribute and develop in this role. Responding to major incidents or crises by undertaking a communications support role, ensuring the ability to respond out of hours in some instances is also important.


The Manager will lead the planning and activation of proactive communications programmes – including visibility programmes for senior executives – and be involved with managing and coordinating the local PR agencies, directing the development of announcements, events, campaigns, messaging and delivery across multiple channels and audiences, as well as ensuring the measurement of the results.


The Manager will also work in partnership with key functions, including Marketing, Business Performance, Government Engagement and Client Services to prioritise the expansion of Visa’s presence and brand across the region in both traditional and digital media (including social media channels such as LinkedIn and local blogs). 
 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • 3-6 years of public relations/communications experience with a Bachelor’s degree in communication, journalism, business or equivalent PR qualification.
  • Experience working for, or supporting as consultant, a high-profile company/brand operating in an international corporate environment.
  • Experience of, and passion for, creating engaging corporate communications campaigns that meet business objectives.
  • Proven self-starter with experience of developing and implementing internal and external communications programmes, including client communications, media relations, social media strategies, and crisis/reputation management.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in one of the Nordic languages and English
  • An administrative mindset and a willingness to take lead on internal processes.
  • Experience in developing engaging written and visual content, including press releases, statements, blogs, briefing documents, videos, and infographics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to advise and influence senior internal stakeholders, while simultaneously managing multiple projects under pressure.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, often interacting within the region and cross-functionally across the business.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to quickly transition from strategy to implementation, working on both simultaneously as needed.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with procurement and contract processes.
