Job Description

Visa Direct is an exciting, new payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate domestic and cross-border fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts in the U.S. and around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT), and traditional ACH/RTP payment rails to deposit into checking accounts and wallets leveraging the VPL network.   Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person to person (P2P) transfer, cross border remittances, funds disbursement (business to consumer or small business payments) including priority use cases of marketplace payouts, royalty and digital content payouts and gig economy services, and more.

 

North America Visa Direct (NAVD) Cross-Border (XB) Commercialization team plays a critical role in growing the Visa Direct business through expanding the Visa Direct use cases and deploying scalable solutions.  The team is responsible for go to market strategy and commercialization of Visa Direct across existing and new use cases and industry verticals. The team’s focus is on driving growth of NA outbound cross-border Funds Disbursement programs and transactions – we are at the tip of the iceberg and need to push hard to capture the full market opportunity in front of us.  The NA XB business is a key growth driver for Visa Direct – and much of that growth will come from Funds Disbursement use cases.  

 

Manager – Cross-Border Product Strategy/Go-To-Market - North America Visa Direct, will be a key team member of the NAVD XB team and will be responsible for driving and executing the go-to-market strategy for cross-border disbursements use cases. Your remit will be to lead and ignite priority use-cases (e.g., marketplaces, royalties and digital goods, and service provider payouts) across various client segments including merchants, fintechs, enablers and banks/FIs.

 

You will work closely with various teams across Visa to successfully develop solutions and partnerships to launch and scale our cross-border business. As one of the most diverse roles at Visa, you will excel at handling ambiguity and uncertainty. The ideal candidate should know what it is like to start something from scratch, grow it structurally and methodically.

 

Responsibilities

 

Manage the end-to-end commercialization life cycle from go to market strategy, sales, solutioning, implementation and growth & optimization for a cross-border funds disbursement use case (e.g., marketplaces, royalties and digital goods, and service provider payouts)

  • Use Case GTM execution:
    • Drive the GTM and partnership strategies, Merchant and Enabler targets, receive market readiness, cross functional team priorities and transaction volume and yield estimates to drive growth of this use case
    • Tailor and package the Visa Direct cross-border use case solution including strategic direction, rules and compliance, pricing and distribution strategy, and positioning to deliver a value proposition to key client segments
    • Design and drive cross functional projects aligned with growth strategy
  • Solutioning and Sales Support:
    • Define solutioning paths for scalable client implementation and support team for ongoing prospect and client engagements including bespoke client solutioning across all the Visa Direct capabilities (e.g.:  payment rails, corridor priority, receive market readiness, pricing (including FX), multi-currency settlement and value-added services)
    • Lead client engagements from a product solutioning perspective and provide SME support to the sales teams in client discussions 
  • Client Optimization:
    • Develop and execute optimization strategies informed by data analysis to grow existing programs in collaboration with pricing, marketing, product, operations, and sales teams.
    • Work with Marketing, Innovation and Communications teams to produce use case playbooks, including optimized messaging/positioning, sales materials and tools, UX best practices, and solution guides with targeted marketing and communication plans to increase awareness, adoption and preference for Visa Direct across target segments
  • Ecosystem:
    • Define and implement pricing (including FX), policies, platform enhancements, send and receive network priorities in  support of Funds Disbursement use cases
    • Develop deep expertise in the Visa Direct Technology Stack, Visa’s Digital Assets and Capabilities, and our Processing and Acquiring partner ecosystem

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work
experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience
with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4-5 years of experience with an
Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• 3+ years of payments industry experience with good exposure to payment processing, payment
services product management, business operations, or consulting
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to explain complex business and
technical concepts to a broad audience in an approachable way
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on clients
• Good understanding of money movement space, key players (card based and non-card based),
competition and market trends
• Strong project management and organization with the ability to independently lead and manage
complex projects with multiple work streams and cross-functional stakeholders
• Fast learner and critical thinker, ability to interpret rules and policies and clearly articulate
applicability to programs
• Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to
innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results
• Strong team player, self-motivated and the ability to work independently at coordinating cross
functional activities, obtain buy-in and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately
