Job Description

You will be part of a team who are growing the capabilities and services in the Visa Spend Clarity to deliver scalable and robust solutions that will take Visa Spend Clarity to more customers and users around the globe. With an engineering group of nearly 300 people, Visa Spend Clarity is a key focus area with large growth ambitions driven by customer needs and a desire to innovate using modern cloud technologies.

What a Senior Front End Engineer does at Visa:

A Senior Front End Engineer is a specialized software development role. You may be working with one team or be consulting with many product delivery teams. Engagement will vary from assisting them with front-end development, problem solving, frameworks, and coaching, as well as working on strategic front-end technology RnD tasks. You will be working alongside full-stack developers of intermediate and senior ability, as well as architects and UX design consultants.

This role requires a dedication to technical excellence, not only in writing code, but also in collaboration, testing, documentation, and reviews. Good communication, excellent professionalism and a customer focused attitude are essential, as well as a ‘can-do’ mind-set and willingness to work across various disciplines as required.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, guided by industry best practices and latest techniques.
  • Strong experience with React and React Hooks.
  • Knowledge and experience with relevant international standards and regulations (e.g., WCAG), assistive technologies, and semantic HTML.
  • Familiar with JavaScript unit testing
  • Experience with testing during development for usability and accessibility and fixing any bugs
  • A solid understanding of design patterns (MVC, MVVM, BFF etc.)
  • Strong team collaboration skills and communication skills
  • An ability to navigate complexity by quickly making sense of complex issues and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong development skills and an adapt and learn mindset
  • Self-motivated and goal driven
  • Strong relationship building skills and able to coach others
  • Ability to work autonomously on time critical tasks


What will also help:

  • 5-7+ years’ experience in professional software development
  • Experience with transactional systems (e.g., banking, finance, telecommunications, etc.)
  • Financial industry experience.
  • Ideally tertiary qualified with appropriate certifications.
  • Experience with Agile frameworks such Scrum or Kanban.
  • Leadership experience in inspiring others to use appropriate techniques and actions to move toward higher levels of performance.
  • Refactoring, DDD, Clean Code, SOLID principles, and design patterns
  • Test-first development (BDD and TDD)
  • AngularJS, jQuery, ASP.NET MVC, REST APIs
  • DevOps and Cloud (AWS)
  • .Net, C#, and SQL Server
