Job Description

The Security and Risk Products team at Visa focuses on delivering the fraud detection and prevention solutions that enable every good transaction to be approved, every bad transaction to be declined, all with a seamless customer experience. We are looking for product leaders that are passionate about innovation and developing solutions that help identify and mitigate financial fraud as well as maximize approvals of legitimate transactions.

 

The role of Staff Product Manager in the Payment Authentication group is to help manage existing products, develop enhancements to these products, and develop new offerings focused on risk and authentication. He/she will be part of the global team, which is developing and deploying Visa’s payment authentication solutions, based on the 3-D Secure specification. The Staff Product Manager will assess global market trends, evaluate potential product opportunities, and recommend market entry strategies. He/she will contribute to the product vision and delivery, including managing functional requirements, feature prioritization, product operations, and on-going product management. He/she will also partner with internal groups to evaluate and articulate the value/business proposition of new products and will be highly consultative to Visa’s client facing teams and regional product leads on the best way for clients to take advantage of Visa’s solution and new products.

 

Visa is looking for an individual with an early track record of success in product delivery, with an attention to detail, and the desire and aptitude to develop their strategic product management skills.

 

Essential Functions

  • Support the deployment of Visa’s payment authentication solution and new risk and authentication products globally.
  • Lead the execution of short-term, intermediate, and long-term strategic business development plans for Visa’s payment authentication and new risk products
  • Support product development lifecycle from strategic planning, commercialization, development, and ongoing management
  • Lead efforts with Visa regional product leads and cross-functional team members to develop the product assets and commercialize Visa solutions.
  • Identify and build relationships with internal and external partners to successfully manage and deliver high quality products and solutions
  • Stay abreast of competitor products, ensure products are differentiated and solve client’s greatest needs while reducing fraud and increasing authorization.
  • Capture, develop, and deliver ideas/processes that improve Visa’s patent portfolio

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work
experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience
with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant
experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant
experience with a PhD with experience and knowledge of payment authentication a strong plus
• Experience and understanding of product development methodologies
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build connections with internal Visa teams and clients
• Ability to transform business ideas into detailed requirements that enable technology teams to
deliver new products or product enhancements based on business needs
• Business acumen as well as attention to details, and proven leadership success over a wide variety
of functional business problems
• Strong data analysis, modeling, problem solving and visualization skills.
• Ability to manage simultaneous tasks and projects with multiple work streams, and demonstrated
strong organizational skills
• Ability to create and influence strategy
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
