Job Description

Visa’s Global Buyer Product team works cross-functionally with Visa’s global and regional teams to enhance the issuance, usage and engagement of Visa consumer payment credentials.  Within Global Buyer, the Digital Issuance team plays a critical role in leading the payments industry toward a digital-native future. We are looking for a strong Product Director to develop and execute on our cross-product Digital Issuance strategy, product roadmap, and go-to-market efforts. Digital Issuance enables issuers to provide consumers with digital credentials that can be immediately used for point of sale and e-commerce purchases. The position will be based in San Francisco California and will report to the Senior Director of Digital Issuance and may require occasional travel to client sites and Visa locations around the globe. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Champion a “digital-native” mindset across the Visa organization
  • Drive execution by aligning existing product roadmaps to support digital issuance and lifecycle management capabilities for traditional and fintech clients
  • Identify new product opportunities based on end-user and client needs, and help lead the product development process to bring these new products to market
  • Work with Sales Account Executives, Visa Consulting & Analytics, Product Strategy, Processing, Innovation, and Regional Solutions teams to align all of Visa’s client-facing efforts related to digital issuance capabilities
  • Partner closely with the Technology organization to define the detailed product requirements and execute the technology build
  • Develop guides and best practice tools for clients and partners to use during commercialization efforts and support our clients as they transition to digital issuance
  • Design user experience for customer facing product and build mockup for digital issuance use cases and product ideas
  • Act as a subject matter expert for digital issuance and digital-native experiences. 
  • Work with cross-functional organizations across Visa to establish best practices and identify opportunities to improve the digital issuance experience.

 

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications
• 12+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 10-12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8+ years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• 8-10 years of experience in product management or project management, preferably with a major financial institution, a global consulting firm, payment card network, or technology leader
• Strong customer oriented mindset to support business operations, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation skills.
• Strong collaboration skills are required. The candidate must be able to manage projects in collaboration with product owners who will be responsible for the core strategies.
• Highly organized with excellent multitasking skills and the ability to manage multiple disparate projects in parallel
• Systematic, detail-oriented mindset and strong at planning. Able to track, manage and coordinate the effective go-to-market progress of multiple solutions at multiple lifecycle stages across multiple markets
o Experienced in the commercialization and management of API-based products
o Subject matter expertise on global fintech trends and players is an asset
o Passionate about getting things done and shipping product
o Experience with issuer card processing a plus
o Curious problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
