Job Description

The Product and Payment Services Risk team at Visa helps create a strong risk management culture and capability by driving risk management awareness, accountability, and maturity within our Business Units in alignment with Visa’s Risk appetite. The team covers Visa’s full suite of Products and Services.

The Product and Payment Services Risk Manager will lead efforts to aggregate and communicate key enterprise risks of the Visa’s money movement business, Visa Direct.  The candidate will operationalize Visa’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework, ensuring risk programs and standards are embedded into our products and business units.  This individual will be regarded as a trusted business partner and will drive continuous improvement in Visa’s risk management capability

Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as trusted risk business partner, collaborating with business units on product roadmap, pipeline of strategic initiatives to identity risk assessments needed

  • Lead cross functional teams to identify and monitor business unit risks as part of portfolio lifecycle risk management. Lifecycle risk management includes Visa’s New Business Initiative Assessment (NBIA) and ongoing assessments of our products and payment services business units

  • Provide oversight of business unit incident, event and issue management

  • Oversee Risk and Control Self-Assessment and provide constructive challenge to uplift control design and effectiveness to reduce risk exposure

  • Design Risk control testing to augment and support business unit and second line risk program testing efforts

  • Working closely with Visa Global Risk Centers of Excellence to actively monitor risks identified through these programs and include in Product Risk Portfolio Reporting e.g. Technology Risk, Third Party Risk, Substantive Compliance Area Monitoring and Testing, Data Privacy Oversight, Model Risk, Risk and Control Self-Assessment, Ecosystem Security and Integrity etc.

  • Maintain risk register, key risk indicators and portfolio management reporting on business unit risk profile to highlight risks that warrant attention and escalate issues to management and Governing bodies (as applicable)

  • Prepare and present materials providing insight into the risk profile of the Visa Direct portfolio and establish meetings with business unit management and key functional leaders (e.g., Legal, Cybersecurity, Compliance) to discuss risk profile and action plans.

  • Encourage adoption of Digitization through use of Visa’s Enterprise Risk Management tool as Source of record for Visa’s risks and controls.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
• Proven ability and experience in identifying, assessing, managing, reporting and communicating risks
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and excellent judgment
• An understanding of the payments industry and/or financial services, payment products and services, and of wider economic / competitive landscape
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication, and facilitation skills, plus ability to work independently and effectively in a continually changing environment
• Proven ability to develop strong relationships and work with all organizational levels
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Experience in identifying, assessing, managing, and reporting risks
• Track record in synthesizing complex information to produce impactful management information and support informed executive decision making

Preferred Qualifications:
• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
• Business acumen, understanding of the payments industry, payment products and services, and of wider economic/competitive landscape
• Experience in Tableau, Power BI, or similar data analysis tool

COLORADO APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Colorado is 90,200 USD to 117,300 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
