About Visa Global Sourcing

The Global Sourcing organization manages the efficient procurement of goods and services for Visa globally while minimizing the risk of using third party suppliers. Global Sourcing provides best in class sourcing solutions while leveraging industry best practices.

 

Purpose of the role

The Marketing Buyer is expected to lead by example, and through partnership, to drive competitive advantage and value for Visa. As a key team member of the CEMEA Sourcing team, you will be accountable for delivering sustainable results across a number of Marketing sub-categories. You will partner with category leads and business partners to deliver commercial and contractual value in the following sub-categories: Marketing Creative, Production, Media, Digital, Research and other categories as may be necessary from time to time. You will also be responsible for partnering with category leads, business partners and suppliers for the delivery of Supplier Performance Management programs across these sub-categories.

You will need a strong sense of urgency and the ability to succinctly frame issues and alternatives to drive decisions forward.

 

Key Results Areas / Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to manage daily marketing buying activities, across a wide geography (CEMEA – Central Europe, Middle East and Africa), ensuring services for businesses / business partners in accordance with policies and procedures, working on multiple tools and systems.

 

Responsibilities:

•        Engages and establishes business partnerships with cross functional leadership across Visa to collaborate, influence, and drive efficient buying strategies

•        Manages multiple scope requirements, business partnerships, and navigates complexity within a large global matrixed organization

•        Creates a shared vision by embedding and integrating the role of Tactical Buying within the designated business area

•        Develops / optimizes buying strategies to support the functional objectives

•        Provides high level guidance on the overall sourcing and buying process, from needs identification, through to supplier payment and performance management.

•        Maintains strong external focus by leveraging industry peers, organizations, associations and by continuing to build strong relationships outside of Visa

•        Communicates effectively and frequently, listens carefully, and actively seeks and values the perspectives of others

•        Builds effective strategic relationships with external suppliers to drive and execute category, sub-category strategies

•        Supports the implementation of Global Sourcing policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or business equivalent
  • Experience within Procurements is a must
  • understanding of Marketing Procurements/ Buying or Marketing/Sales as a business unit within a Multinational / Global Brand
  • Fluent English required (both oral and written)
  • Arabic language as an advantage
  •  Strong analytical (advanced Excel, reporting and analytics) and project management skills
  • Experience managing internal customers and users who interact with the Buying Center (e.g. customer care, customer help, phone based training, coaching and guidance)
  • High level of self-motivation and initiative, and ability to operate effectively as a team player
  • Logical based reasoning and recommendations
  • Service-delivery oriented, with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Results driven discipline
