Job Description

What's it all about?

As a Data Scientist working with one of Visa's top clients you will be responsible for supporting campaign targeting and evaluation, utilizing client data to support the product and marketing team in sourcing targets for campaign activity. You will act as one of the key touchpoints between the client and Visa, liaising with both to analyse data trends across a number of growth initiatives , identify improvement opportunities, and supporting the deployment of appropriate Visa solutions to boost both Credit and Debit portfolio revenues.

What we expect you to do, day to day.

 

  • Providing thought leadership in data science techniques and business applications to unlock the value of Visa’s unique data set
  • Evangelizing the creative use of data and analytics to solve our clients business problems 
  • Identifying trends in our client work to inform our data product development path
  • Identifying how data science and predictive techniques can be used to enhance client profitability, card and payments portfolio management across acquisition, usage & retention
  • Analyse initial credit limit assignment methodology, identifying opportunities for better risk management
  • Deep-dive analysis, scenario modelling and forecasted performance metrics around Persistent Debt Strategy Support
  • Develop understanding of commercial levers that drive spend behavior
  • Evaluate customer profiles to marry cost of continued customer engagement to re-engage or to close accounts
  • Researching, envisioning, building, deploying and developing our next generation of data engines and tools
  • Developing and applying advanced algorithms and Machine Learning that will drive our scheduling, placement and prediction engines
  • Assisting in defining product enhancements, requirements and new features
  • Liaise with Visa Data Science Lab to implement relevant solutions to our client

Qualifications

What we’re after…

  • Experience leading teams and/or projects that deliver data driven insights
  • Experience in payment, retail banking, or retail merchant industries
  • Operates as a thought leader, with the ability to guide, influence and inspire performance across the data science function
  • Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible style, with the ability to tailor data driven results to various audience levels
  • Strong consultative skills to establish relationships across the broader organization
  • Ability to communicate at all levels with both business and technology leaders to build consensus
  • Results oriented with very strong analytical, consultative and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor
  • Experience working with industry standard libraries and frameworks e.g. Keras, PyTorch, Spark MLLib and Tensorflow
  • Strong SQL experience in querying large, complex data sets
  • Demonstrated ability to write clean code in R/Python/Scala/ PySpark or alternatives
  • Modelling experience in terms of BI, Excel, Tableau
  • Experience in building and deploying machine learning algorithms in a production environment such as Classification, Clustering, Association rules, etc.
