Job Description

The Visa People Technology Team is looking to grow our in-house Workday knowledge to rapidly transform the Talent product space. As a senior leader, you will apply your Workday expertise to define enterprise solutions while supporting the People Team in making fast, educated design decisions. You have a knack for articulating your message effectively to both HR professionals and SW engineers and possess a strategic lens to communicate to senior executives.

Essential Functions:

You deeply understand the Talent business. You have implemented Workday Talent features at large, global companies and know how to make the most of the Workday feature set. You will oversee the design, configure, test and deploy of new Workday / SaaS application features with precision and transparency. Your ultimate aim is to make Talent programs at Visa successful.

You are an advocate for delightful user experiences. You recognize Workday’s limitations and when necessary are comfortable suggesting alternatives, whether they be alternate vendors or full stack development options. You understand the most sustainable ways to integrate third party applications. You are familiar with the latest technical trends and know how to apply them in a wholistic solution.

  • Maintain oversight of the design and implementation of Workday feature implementations to ensure appropriate and effective architecture controls are included.
  • Collaborate with the People Team, other product development groups and Workday product experts to identify and define solutions for complex business requirements.
  • Present solution concepts to senior executive stakeholders to gain alignment.
  • Create architecture artifacts, conduct architectural reviews, participate in code-reviews

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD in computer science or equivalent training required
  • 5+ years of proven experience leading Workday implementations through development, testing, configuration, and deployment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to author and present materials ranging from detailed technical specifications to high-level presentations.
  • Technical Acumen working in a Corporate Technology environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • Workday consulting experience with large, global Fortune 500 corporations preferred.
  • Expertise with People Technology market trends in the HCM, Talent & Analytics subject areas
  • Management and exposure of HR data with desired security and privacy.
  • Ability to create and articulate target and reference architectures and product, capability roadmaps.
  • Relevant experience in the software development life cycle (plan, analyze, design, implement, maintain) including systems testing which includes corner cases and unusual scenarios
  • Expert at documenting current and future state process, challenging the status quo and looking across functions for ways to automate and reduce manual work
  • Familiarity with agile/SCRUM development methodologies and software development lifecycle principles.
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills; able to quickly digest any issue/problem encountered and recommend an appropriate solution.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
