Job Description

Operations + Infrastructure: Operations & Infrastructure builds, operates and maintains best-in-class IT infrastructure services that are secure, scalable, and continuously available.

We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our customers can pay and be paid everywhere around the globe.  The Data Center Engineering and Operations (DCE&O) Organization ensures the resilience and availability of our most critical infrastructure assets. You will work with technical experts across our global organization to take on complex topics like how we use power or how to run state-of-the-art, environmentally-friendly facilities. You will help to generate ideas, communicate recommendations to senior-level executives and drive implementation alongside data center technicians.

The candidate will work as part of the DCIM team to support and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the DCIM business function. The Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) team is responsible for managing data center infrastructure capacity, deployments, operational tools, data quality, and maintenance supporting our enterprise data center systems.  The team works closely with Data Center Facilities Engineering, Hardware Engineering, & Network Engineering to provide critical planning, analytical, and monitoring capabilities across our global data center footprint.

Essential Functions: 

  • Provide software configuration & operational support for data center management systems
  • Provide Level 1 support for end user requests
  • Serve as a liaison for the user community, validating data and ensuring timely data entry
  • Analyze data quality issues and implement solutions to remediate identified issues
  • Coordinate with other analysts, engineers, developers and stakeholders regarding technical issues and creative solutions
  • Evaluate data sets for consistency, completeness, and accuracy
  • Conduct audits of data repository to ensure accuracy and identify gaps
  • Participate in project team meetings and communicate effectively with peers, technical project managers, and across other technology team lanes
  • Recommend process improvements, system enhancements, and procedural changes to increase operational efficiencies and data quality
  • Create and distribute reports to internal clients and effectively communicate the state of the data
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters or MBA)
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS/MIS, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Business or a related field, graduating January 2021 - August 2022
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent scale)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of work experience or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
  • Proficiency working with physical data center systems including structured cabling, IT hardware & network equipment
  • Working knowledge of SQL, writing queries & performing data analysis
  • Advanced data visualization experience with Tableau or PowerBI
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs; position requires regular amounts of walking, standing, sitting and lifting
  • Solid process orientation and exhibited planning, organizational and problem solving skills
  • Inquisitive, methodical, and analytical approach to details
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to successfully manage and execute multiple tasks / projects simultaneously
  • An eye for quality and a willingness to do what’s necessary to achieve deadlines in a dynamic environment with frequent priority changes
  • Ability to learn new techniques and technologies quickly
