Job Description

The Director, Governance Risk and Compliance – M&A will be responsible for leading the up-front planning and subsequent execution of Cybersecurity initiatives that support the overall Cybersecurity acquisition agenda for acquired entities.  This hands-on position will serve as part of Visa's Cybersecurity GRC M&A team, providing oversight, coordination, and delivering the activities supporting successful risk management activities around acquired entities for VISA. This position interacts with a wide range of stakeholders both within Cybersecurity, Technology and also with cross-functional teams, including Enterprise Risk and Regulatory teams.  This position will report to the Senior Director of Governance Risk & Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide program management, Cybersecurity integration, and cross-functional execution of large-scale, high visibility initiatives associated to Cybersecurity Integration of acquired entities.

  • Partner with key Technology and cross-functional stakeholders to drive key program activities:

    • Develop integration plans across Cybersecurity functional areas

    • Track program budgets, forecasts and resourcing levels

    • Conduct program reviews across delivery teams

    • Provide executive management with program updates

    • Manage program risks & issues

  • Oversee the day-to-day aspects of key integration activities, including overall management of scope, schedule, and financial aspects of the activity.

  • Support Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) post-close integration for Cybersecurity deliverables.

  • Provide oversight to the cross-functional team of project leads including program-level guidance and direction.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Masters or MBA in a relevant field a plus.
• 10-12 years of experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs delivering to time commitments with strong attention to detail experience in financial and/or technology industries a plus but not required.
• Experience in security, software engineering, risk management, compliance, information systems or other relevant field.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills ability to think strategically and drive decision making.
• Deep knowledge of security practices and controls applied to pragmatically address security risks.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to establish trust with internal/external partners.
• Organized, self-driven, and comfortable handling high-profile and complex situations.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and/or solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

• Demonstrated ability to manage through influence, but without direct management authority.
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
• CISA/CISM/CISSP, or similar certification a plus
• Consulting experience is a plus

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
