Job Description

The Technology Planning and Business Operations (TPBO) organization provides key business management oversight and integration across the Technology organization. This includes driving investment planning & budgeting, portfolio management (projects, initiatives, etc.), workforce planning activities, strategic initiative program management, and communications activities. The team is focused on improving efficiencies, transparency, consistency and collaboration within the Technology organization and other key cross-functional stakeholders.  Within TPBO, Technology Workforce Planning & Procurement Governance is focused on operations and strategic planning for Technology workforce and procurement. 

 

Job Description and Responsibilities

 

The Lead, Technology Workforce Planning will be responsible for leading key workforce initiatives across Visa's Technology & Operations organization.  This position interacts with a wide range of stakeholders both within Technology and also with cross-functional teams including Finance, HR, and Legal teams.  Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead workforce planning activities for Technology & Operations organization including:

    • Lead the development and maintenance of multi-year strategic workforce plan

    • Reporting, analytics, and dashboards on workforce performance

    • Implement process and system improvements for improved workforce plan management

    • Oversee and continuously improve governance processes related to incremental hiring and position changes

    • Strategic planning activities such as assessing new Technology hubs, growth levels in existing sites, and other regulatory considerations

 

  • Lead concurrent workstreams related to establishing resource pipeline and supplier management framework for Visa's Application, Development and Maintenance (ADM) Program:

    • Build and operationalize contingent resource demand pipeline to ensure preferred suppliers understand upcoming resourcing business needs

    • Partner across stakeholders in the Technology organization as well as cross-functional groups such as Finance, Procurement, and Legal to collaboratively shape the strategic roadmap for external spend

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Masters or MBA in a relevant field a plus.
• 8+ years of experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs, multi-stakeholder programs or activities, ideally with direct experience in workforce planning or contingent workforce.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically and drive decision making.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills. In particular, a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and/or solutions to multiple organizational levels internally and externally as needed.
• Experience in workforce planning and/or contingent workforce.
• Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
• PMP, Lan Six Sigma, or similar certification a plus but not required.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
