Job Description

CyberSource Fraud Analytics is looking for a bright, passionate, and dedicated individual with strong quantitative and analytical skills, to serve as a Data Engineer and Business Analyst to support the Managed Risk Data Analytics Team.  In this multifaceted role, you will be responsible for

  • Prototyping/implementing analytics solutions using best technologies
  • Assuring data timely availability
  • Maintaining high data quality
  • Diagnosing and resolving data issues
  • Responding to and owning requests from a multifaceted audience
  • Working closely and collaborating with colleagues to problem solve and deliver solutions

Primary Responsibilities

Day to day responsibilities include:

Technical contributions

  • Ensure data flows are working properly and help maintaining them as needed
  • Partner with other team members in understanding requirements of requests and if incremental data sources are needed, independently identify the location and access to the needed source(s) to add them to our current data flow for inclusion in the solution Reduce detail
  • Propose, design and engineer solutions and improvement to data products.  Look for opportunities to automate, optimize and scale processes
  • Continuous education on evolution of infrastructure at Visa such that it can incorporated in analytics team solutions.
  • Build complex Big-data/Hadoop/Spark/Presto apps that meet our internal and external customer needs
  • Collaborate with team members and customers to gather requirements and design solutions
  • Data discrepancy and resolution
  • Collaboration with the product and platform teams (Corporate Data Platform and Fraud Product teams) to support and develop data flows and infrastructures for optimized and high-performance data accessibility

Analytical contributions

  • Take ownership of projects and assignments as they are received.
  • Gather requirements, understand business issue, translate to data solution and develop and deliver solution.
  • Research appropriate data sources as needed
  • Develop analysis and delivery plan
  • Deliverables may be something as simple as a data dump for an internal client or more complicated as developing a customer deduplication methodology for a recurring report for a merchant client
  • Partner with internal clients and consult with end clients (merchants) as needed

Qualifications

Basic Qualification
• 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)

Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• College degree (math, engineering, or similar science or analytical discipline preferred) or proven proficiency and high-level experience in data management, data analysis, software development, and analytics
• Minimum 5 years professional work experience
• Ability to formally gather requirements from clients, formalize a strategy for solution, and execute independently.
• Ability to work well with across variety of functional teams
• Ability to build and optimize big data pipelines and create analytics data products
• Ability to diagnose and debug data quality issues and provide root cause analysis. Propose, implement and verify fixes.
• Technology and application experience: Java, Python, Hadoop/Spark, Presto, Oracle, SQL, Tableau, Linux

COLORADO APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Colorado is 103,400 USD to 131,800 USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity.
