Job Description

The Sr. Alliances Sales Engineer position is part of the larger CyberSource Global Sales Engineering & Delivery function and partners closely with the Enterprise Sales – North America team. As a key contributor in the success of the Alliances organization, the Sr. Alliances Sales Engineer is primarily responsible for providing deep technical and subject matter expertise across the Cybersource technology stack, presentations, solution demonstrations, industry best practices and ongoing support to strategic financial and technology partners. Internally, the role requires cross functional collaboration with various departments including Sales, Commercial Operations, Product Management, Solutions Management, Product Development, Customer Support and Marketing to communicate market-facing feedback and industry trends. Light to moderate travel is required for attendance of sales meetings, conferences and partner events.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide direct deal cycle support for the acquisition of net new and support of upsell to existing clients of the Cybersource technology stack.

  • Leads from the front with technical discovery, requirements and solution design and optimization for technical closure.

  • Engages and aligns to the top Acquirer and technology partners across the region in provide best in class technical guidance, enablement, solution design and deployment of services.

  • Acts as a champion and advocate in the use of IDDEA and its artefacts during client engagements.

  • Develop and maintain deep subject matter expertise of CyberSource core technology stack, platform solutions and partner integrations

  • Inject CyberSource expertise and industry best practices into the design and architecture of new and existing strategic partner solutions for optimized solution designs across the partner client base.

  • Train/enable strategic partner teams on CyberSource products and solution messaging

  • Provide ongoing technical expertise, guidance, and support to new and existing partners

  • Provide technical delivery & implementation expertise and engagement for the successful deployment of the Cybersource services through partner platforms and acquirer partners as resellers.

  • Solve complex business and technical requirements through the application of CyberSource solutions along with where relevant broader Visa assets.

  • Cross functionally collaborate with internal teams including Solutions Management, Product Management, Product Development, Customer Support and Product Marketing to relay market feedback and provide input into the design of new solutions

  • Support the sales organization in bid/tender management engagements leading to new client acquisition and/or retention.

  • Lead internal technical enablement sessions for wider Sales Engineering & delivery teams regionally and globally.

  • Actively participate as a subject matter expert in industry conferences, tradeshows, summits and alliance partner events

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD University Recruiting: MBA/ PhD without experience
• Significant demonstratable experience of providing consultancy led engagement to top tier financial & technical clients across the SaaS environment.
• Significant & active experience working as a sales engineer or software engineer in a technical and commercial environment
• Experience of cross functional collaboration between technical, service delivery, support & commercial facing teams.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of intermediary level of programming & scripting skills (Java, PHP, C++/.NET, HTML etc.) for effective implementation of the CyberSource products & services.
• Substantial experience in communicating technical concepts in a clear and articulate fashion to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Confident speaker with ability to present, interact, and connect with executives and engineers
• Natural ability to understand and articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Strong personal desire to improve and expand industry-related knowledge
• Strong track record in high customer focus and attention to detail
• Excellent communication & negotiation skills
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Fully fluent in mainstream software applications for writing, presentation, data management
• Ability to travel up to 35%
