Job Description
Visa Direct is an exciting, new payment service that Visa provides to clients (issuers, acquirers, processors, merchants and service providers) to facilitate fund transfers/disbursements to Visa accounts in the U.S. and around the world using push payment technology, i.e. Original Credit Transaction (OCT). Visa Direct consumer and business applications include person to person (P2P) transfer, person to micro-business transfer (e.g. payouts to shared economy providers), funds disbursement (e.g. insurance claimer reimbursements), and more.
The Head of North American Visa Direct use cases will be responsible for leading and igniting the overall segment in US and Canada for all corporate use cases, including B2C, B2SB, SB2SB, and G2C: includes multiple segments including marketplaces, payroll, earned wage access, small business platforms
First and foremost, this role is focused on growth – we are at the tip of the iceberg and need to push hard to capture the full opportunity in front of us.
This is a client-facing and broad-reaching leadership role so organizational savvy, interpersonal and negotiation skills are critical as he/she will interface with all areas of Visa (sales, marketing, pricing, legal,
risk) and with executives from some of our largest clients. Visa is looking for an individual that is a thought leader in strategy and business growth with a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with demanding timelines.

Responsibilities:
Full accountability for the plan, execution and on going management of corporate and small business funded uses cases for the US and Canada.
P&L responsibility requires a high degree of independent judgment to evaluate, identify best path of action for the right outcomes in support of the business strategy and driving those outcomes to success The individual will be required to work with functional leaders across a variety of functions: pricing, rules, sales, marketing, legal, and operational teams to influence and shape to inform functional partner prioritization and work efforts including but not limited to: technology builds, rule changes, pricing changes, auth performance optimization
The leader will manage a team of 3-5 use case leads to define, execute, and manage the ongoing business for consumer funded flows. Responsibilities include:
Achieve or exceed growth targets for Visa Direct across the US and Canada
- Achieve annual volume goals for both merchant and acquirer of Visa Direct, in partnership with sales teams
- Manage the end2end commercialization life cycle from go to market strategy, sales, solutioning, implementation and growth optimization
- Develop strategy for growth acceleration, including determining use case high potential, product capabilities, rules, and client segments etc.
- Design and drive cross functional projects aligned with growth strategy
Drive four key workstreams for Visa Direct growth
- Use Case GTM planning: define data and market informed use case focus, partnership strategies, targets, and cross functional team priorities
- Solutioning and Sales Support: define solutioning paths for scalable client implementation and support team for ongoing prospect and client engagements for bespoke client solutioning
- Client Optimization: UX, Auth performance, Client Commercialization, Program promotions
- Ecosystem: Defining and implementing: pricing, policies, and platform enhancements
Work with cross functional partners across US/North America to ensure we have what we need to be successful with our clients
- Work with local and global Visa Direct Product team to develop the go-to-the right product construct to meet use case, vertical and country level requirements
- Work with regional, global, and specialized sales teams to ensure cohesion and consistency for overall regional partners, priorities, and goals
- Work with Marketing to build client facing materials and campaigns to help accelerate the learning and sales process
- Work with Communications to share progress and growth to external audiences through a communication plan, PR, conference events, etc.
- Work with Finance to define rack rate and bespoke incentive structures
- Work with Legal to define standard client contracts for faster contracting
- Work with Client Services for client implementation and ongoing performance optimization opportunities
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA /JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
• 15 or more years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 12 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, or MD); PhD with 9+ years of experience
• Proven leader with a track record for successfully developing and commercializing new businesses.
• 12+ years of experience, including at least eight years of experience leading teams in payments area.
• Excellent problem solving skills with a strong focus on clients.
• Demonstrated thought leadership and the aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to innovate and differentiate products with evidence of tangible business results.
• Passionate about what you do and fired up about the opportunity to transform payments working for the industry leader.
• Ability to inspire direct reports, and influence those without direct management responsibility.
• Ability to explain complex business and technical concepts to a broad audiences in an approachable way.
• An advanced degree from a top school strongly preferred.
• Comfort leading and working closely with cross-functional teams required.
• Visa and financial/payment industry knowledge as well as P2P, B2C and B2B market experience

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
