Team

The North America Digital Partnerships team pursues and manages Fintechs and third party program managers who are bringing innovative payments programs into the market. As part of growing payments through these clients, we also support the sponsor banks and technology providers that power these programs. Our mission is to grow the space by supporting these program managers,  banking-as-a-service (BaaS) providers, and corresponding issuers/acquirers with tools and solutions that bring value to ready-funds and disbursement platforms; and securing new opportunities that help expand the market with new use cases that result in incremental network transactions.

Job Scope

The Senior Manager, Fintech Business Development role will be responsible for handling a broad base of small to medium size partners in the emerging payment categories across the consumer and commercial sectors. Specific product solutions include debit, prepaid and credit platforms along with various payment and disbursement solutions. Clients are mostly comprised of third-party Fintech organizations and program managers.  The position will work closely across internal departments to handle client specific needs and identify new opportunities to support relevant Visa products and solutions to sell into clients.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute sales strategies / account plans to increase sales volume and market share, expand product category visibility and exceed defined product and corporate objectives.
  • Handle a base of accounts including contract renewals, cross sell Visa products, and general account relationship management.
  • Continuously review the payment landscape to develop, recommend, and implement new and creative approaches to growing Visa's prepaid, debit, credit and disbursements business with Fintech clients
  • Assist marketing and product development in launching new products and expanding the penetration of existing products by providing market intelligence back into the organization
  • Manage and grow a self-service process for direct client engagement amongst various resources and departments within Visa. 
  • Drive NA Digital Partnerships sales and managed account activities, including but not limited to:
    • Staying relevant with competitive and industry information, trends, forward vision perspective – building a communication plan for the team to keep them informed on a regular basis
    • Help develop and refine consistent account planning/management framework and guidelines
    • Salesforce engagement – pull weekly reports, identify ways to increase team engagement, act as communication liaison with the Visa Playbook team
  • Cultivate productive relationships at all levels with client and the Visa organization
  • Ensure implementation of annual goals and plans

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 8 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of experience with a PhD
• Relationship/client management experience
• Strong analytical, research and reporting skills with the ability to summarize and find insights from data
• Ability to independently lead and manage projects
• Adaptable to a variety of different work and projects
• Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

Preferred Qualifications:
• 9 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD
• Experience coordinating internal and external resources and ability to nurture cross-functional relationships
• Ability to negotiate business agreements and enhance existing and new relationships
• Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners at all levels
• Experience in Payments and Fintech industry is desired
• Core products (Prepaid, Debit, Credit), digital and other leading payments innovation knowledge a plus
• Ability to enhance existing and new relationships, and negotiate business opportunities
• Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives with efficiency, professionalism. Strong trouble shooting/problem solving skills
