Job Description

Visa is looking for a Senior Manager of Communications to drive visibility for Visa’s fintech and crypto product team. This is an opportunity to support an exciting area of Visa’s business and to drive storylines at the top of the global media agenda. 

The ideal candidate will join a team of smart, driven communicators who develop the stories that shape ongoing perception of the iconic Visa brand. We are a group that loves to laugh and support each other, while always challenging and encouraging each other to deliver our best work. 

In this role you’ll work closely with the product team and Visa’s senior leadership to position Visa as the partner of choice for the fintech and crypto ecosystem. The right candidate will have the drive and curiosity to dig in on complex topics and the writing and storytelling skills to bring them to life across owned, earned, and shared media.

The candidate will:

  • Help drive both day-to-day communications and high-visibility campaigns in support of the Fintech & Crypto product teams.
  • Operate with a global mindset and work with Visa’s regional communications teams, informing and supporting them on developments relevant across multiple regions. 
  • Conceive of and project manage communications plans, taking ownership of strategy, socialization and tactical execution - as well as outcomes and reporting.
  • Create and edit a variety of written materials, including but not limited to: press releases, blog posts, paid editorial and case studies. 
  • Have experience turning data/research into storytelling/news opportunities. 
  • Have a digital first mindset and collaborate with the digital content team to leverage social media channels for campaign amplification.
  • Develop relationships with key influencers and media covering relevant beats.
  • Work with partners to manage third-party initiatives and announcements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA) 
  • 5-6 or more years public relations experience, ideally a mix of agency and in-house roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree  8 or more years with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
  • Highly effective project management skills and proven track-record of managing projects within a highly matrixed organization or teams
  • Comfortable collaborating – you’re at home working with cross-functional teammates whether they sit in marketing, legal or government relations
  • Proactive self-starter and problem-solver– doesn’t wait for direction
  • Sense of humor and passion to do great work!

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
