Job Description
The Southern Europe Client Marketing team are transforming how we partner with clients to drive engagement, through a proactive and results driven marketing approach and strategy. Our focus is to enable client value and engagement, maximize Visa investment, assets and partners and drive brand awareness and engagement. The Client Marketing Manager will support the development and execution of the annual marketing plan and is responsible for developing and executing marketing campaigns to be used by Visa clients in Portugal (Financial Institutions, Issuers, Acquirers, Merchants and Fintech Partners). This manager is responsible for building relationships with key Visa clients and building best-in-class marketing plans that drive business goals for both Visa and its clients. The individual must have excellent persuasion skills with a sales mindset. Must be proficient in campaign development understanding all aspects of budgeting, forecasting, identifying insights, creative development, media planning, promotion management, ROI and reporting. Must be able to formulate marketing service proposals and business cases that address specific business objectives for Visa and the client.
The individual strives in working with teams and third parties (such as marketing agencies) to deliver on marketing campaigns in a timely manner. The Client Marketing Manager will be managing multiple client campaigns at the same time and needs to be highly efficient in managing time and expectations with the stakeholders invested in the project. Apart from working with the local teams in Portugal, particularly the Sales and Products teams, the individual will also need to be comfortable collaborating in an international setting with global teams in Europe and the United States.
Essential Functions
- Reporting to the Head of Client Marketing for Spain and Portugal, you will define the strategy and marketing plan to increase the level of Visa client activations.
- You will work closely with the Account Executive team in understand clients´ needs and strategy and identifying opportunities to add value by delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
- You will prepare and present marketing ideas/activity proposals to Visa clients to win their approval and execute on those proposals in a timely manner with the support of different teams across the company.
- You will manage end-to-end co-marketing campaigns with Visa clients, from seeking internal approvals (legal, compliance, finance, etc) to working with agencies and analysing results.
- You will oversee all aspects of co-marketing campaigns, including consumer promotions, events, media campaigns, sponsorships/partnerships, digital and sales support.
- You will reimagine the use and identify opportunities for clients to engage with Visa’s key sponsorship assets including the FIFA Partnership (Mens, Womens, and eSports), UEFA Women’s Football Tournaments, the Olympic Games Partnerships (Summer and Winter), among others.
- You will manage the client marketing budget and co-marketing project investments by client. Liaise with Finance and Sales to keep track of the monthly investments and make sure that are aligned with each individual client contract.
- You will be proactive in engaging with clients and finding new and creative solutions to reach their objectives.
- You will source new opportunities to present to clients either from internal assets or new external partnerships.
You will participate in client QBRs led by the Sales Team and will support new business RFPs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business (MBA preferred) or a related field with a marketing foundation
- Excellent performance in marketing planning and execution with at least 5 years’ experience at Marketing Management level
- Proven experience in developing relationships from scratch and/or have experience in managing client relationships such as Account Management, Trade Marketing, Business Development, etc.
- Proven experience in working with director level and C-level positions as a client.
- Resourceful in leveraging company assets to formulate proposals from scratch.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Experience working in multi-national companies and understand the dynamics of working with global teams and functions across different countries.
- Advertising and media agency management skills, with focus on Digital
- Proven experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance including ROI and accurately forecasting sources of cost, revenue, and risk with an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision-making.
- Working with cross functional teams and the ability to work in multiple projects simultaneously.
