Job Description
CyberSource, a Visa company, is a world leader in e-commerce payment processing, risk management and payment security capabilities.
The Director Global Commercial Operations Strategy and Transformation role is a unique opportunity that calls for a skilled, hands-on, analytical business professional who will have a cross-functional responsibility in Sales Compensation and Deal Management for Cybersource. This person will be responsible for leading the strategy and implementation of various operational process improvements, business transformation projects, and related field enablement to drive broad scale within our global sales teams. The position will be a United States-based telecommuter reporting to Phil Goerbig, Global VP of Deal Management, Commercial Solutions, and Sales Compensation—with a flexible telecommuter location based in the United States.
This is a mid-senior individual contributor position, and as such, the candidate must possess strong business and financial acumen, be a problem solver, competencies in sales strategy and compensation, as well as project management to oversee the process improvements. Our target candidate should ideally be a highly effective communicator with strong ability to influence others through analytical reasoning, creativity, and sound judgment. Applicants should be comfortable challenging the status-quo in a sensitive, efficient, and constructive manner.
Responsibilities
- Support global sales compensation and deal management planning activities—focusing on transformational process improvements to support sales growth & productivity
- Facilitate project meetings/timelines with cross-functional teams—such as sales compensation, pricing strategy, product, finance, & commercial operations teams
- Assess existing processes and identify opportunity for ongoing improvements and project prioritization
- Assist in analyzing the efficacy of existing sales compensation plan design and proposed changes on commissions, incentives, and budgets
- Define communication plan & process to ensure appropriate Cybersource and Visa Stakeholder involvement, while creating content for related sales enablement
- Partner with Finance and sales compensation leadership to develop & maintain aligned process & cadence for commissions budget planning, forecasting and accruals
- Drive best practices for developing and maintaining governance for sales compensation and deal approval policies and procedures
Qualifications
years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years
of work experience with a PhD
• Preferred Qualifications: 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10
years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work
experience with a PhD
Other Qualifications
• Focus in Finance/Accounting
• Minimum of 3-years’ experience in enterprise sales compensation experience—preferably within
global SaaS or software technology companies
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in a P&L support function in a global, multi-channel sales
environment
• Ability to interpret and manipulate large financial data sets and conduct analysis/modelling for
internal business case development
• Experience in leading cross-functional program initiatives and facilitating collaboration across
Sales, Compensation, Marketing, Finance, Product, Technology and Customer Service organizations
• PMP certified with current credentials is preferred
• Exhibits strengths as a cross-functional navigator and consensus builder, with high financial
acumen and sales enablement skills
• Must be results-oriented, organized, able to handle multiple urgent tasks and must effectively deal
with ambiguity in a virtual work environment
• Exceptional influencing & presentation skills - thinks strategically to influence and drive tactical
execution, particularly in a growing matrixed organization
• Low Ego and strong desire to win as a team – pride of outcome mentality vs pride of ownership
• Knowledge and experience with Visa products seen as a plus
