What’s it all about?

As citizens, we are all aware of the important role the government plays in our lives, something the recent pandemic has emphasized. As part of Visa’s growth strategy, focusing on this Government audience is a multi-faceted opportunity spanning both payments (e.g., government payments to suppliers & citizens, citizens payments to governments for taxes or other programs) and non-payment areas focused on innovations and advancements that strengthen financial systems, communities and address the big challenges of our time.  To address this growing opportunity, Visa has recently formed the Visa Government Solutions group.

In this London based, Director of Global Product Marketing role, you will be the marketing lead and evangelist of Visa Government Solutions to our customers, and you will play an integral role in the product life cycle. You will work with cross functional partners to understand this audience, inform our developing strategy, and craft meaningful solution-focused marketing programs for government segments that cross Visa’s many products and technologies. You will be an extension of the Visa’s Government Solutions organization, regularly collaborating with product managers, product strategists, engineers and sales; it is a balancing act that requires strong relationship-building and diplomatic skills, including knowing when to push back and when to dive in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development of marketing strategies for Visa Government Solutions broadly, working closely with all regional and global teams to engage our clients and deliver against Visa’s business and marketing goals.
  • Be the expert on our buyers, and their advocate inside Visa --  who are they, how they buy and their key buying criteria and then synthesizing the deep insights to develop value propositions and messaging.
  • Develop marketing that frames value propositions, sets forth positioning and messaging, and activation strategies.
  • Directs and manage agencies to accomplish strategic marketing projects to support the business
  • Partner with Communications, Government Engagement and Regional teams to identify & pursue priority opportunities to support the growth of Visa Government Solutions.
  • Budget management and financial discipline for key Visa product marketing, including ongoing management of agencies, production costs, and campaign scenario planning to optimize investments that help achieve business goals.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align on shared strategy and approach to educating decision makers and influencers on how Visa can support.  Build supporting marketing collateral to enable those plans. 
  • Partner with our marketing and communication teams to position Visa as a leader in the payments industry and a resource for government agencies.
  • Continuously review market landscape and recommend, develop, and implement new creative approaches to growing the Visa business.
  • Be a Visa brand advocate, working across Brand, Product, UX/UI and sales teams to develop and integrate prominent Visa branding that helps drive attribution back to Visa for helping deliver the experience.
  • Oversee production of sales enablement and audience educational content for Visa Government Solutions to support Visa regional sales and partners’ sales teams.

Qualifications

You will be expected work cross-functionally to develop a deep understanding of the playing field for government payment solutions and use cases, that includes:
• Knowing and understanding our clients better than they know themselves, including what they need and how they make their buying decisions
• Having extensive insights on our competitors, what they are doing today and where they are going in the future
• Deep understanding of market dynamics - including regulation, government payment flows, consumer needs and trends
