Job Description

The Global Underwriting Data Products team’s goal is to expand access to credit to consumers and small businesses. It is an exciting and fast-paced team that would be well suited for those who enjoy being hands-on with strategy formulation and driving results.

Reporting to the Vice President Underwriting Data Products, this role will contribute to the business plan for and then manage the build and rollout of capabilities enable use cases for transaction data with open banking platforms and similar data providers across the globe.

This role will initially focus on enabling consumer underwriting and how we can solution transaction data into the open banking ecosystem to expand access to credit for consumers initially and ultimately expand to small businesses as well.

The Senior Director of Open Banking Underwriting will:

  • Leveraging market research, conversations with country teams, open banking providers, data aggregators, credit bureaus to identify specific use cases to enable acceleration of access to credit for consumers.
  • Based on the research, develop product proof of concepts and associated test plan to demonstrate which of the use cases can scale
  • Partner with regional teams and technology teams to implement the POCs and given the results, make a recommendation on if and how Visa can accelerate the integration with open banking providers in key markets / regions
  • Working with country teams refine the product to a commercial grade solution
  • Develop region-specific strategies to launch and gain scale in credit access capability

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree; 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD); or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

• 12 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• 8+ years of professional experience, preferably within the payment card industry, with a major financial institution or a payment card network
• Proven record of building and/or deploying complex and scalable products
• Strategic thinking, thought leadership, effective decision making and ability to drive for results
• Product management expertise with strong understanding of product development lifecycle, including planning, product management, development and deploying solutions preferably with an agile development team
• Detailed project management approach and ability to multitask while managing priorities
• Ability to conceive technology driven solutions by connecting business needs with capabilities through a customer centric mindset
• Experience creating enhanced customer experiences with a focus on digital journeys
• Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills to enable strong working relationships with colleagues across geographies and functional areas; ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrated passion for driving payments innovation
• Adaptability, tenacity and comfortable with ambiguity

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
