We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Global Corporate Responsibility (CR) Communications to join this growing team at this exciting time. The Senior Manager will be an integral part of the team, responsible for supporting communicating Visa’s purpose, social impact and sustainability work to internal and external audiences. The role will include leading on communications programs that promote the positive impact Visa has on consumers, merchants, financial institutions and governments around the world.

Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Global CR Communications, will devise programs, initiatives and communications to drive the implementation of internal and external communications supporting Visa’s CR business partners (including Social Impact, Visa Foundation, Sustainability and Inclusion & Diversity). Additional responsibilities include:

  • Partner with Senior Director, CR Global Communications to ladder Visa’s Purpose/CR work up to Visa’s broader global thought leadership platform.
  • Develop and drive implementation of internal and external communications strategy, in partnership with CR leadership team and Corporate Communications to ensure delivery of cohesive multi-stakeholder communications plans.
  • Identify and manage Purpose/SR content (e.g. messaging, briefing books, one pagers) and identify opportunities for cross-functional synergies and campaigns.
  • Iterate and contribute to Visa narrative on key purpose/CR themes that illustrate our corporate purpose – working in partnership with Visa leadership and key business partners – across geographies and social impact sub-functions.
  • Manage thought leadership and speaking opportunities for CR leadership, in partnership with PR agency partner, including development of briefing books, speaker prep, media relations follow up, social media amplification, etc.
  • Partner with the content team and agency resources to leverage digital, social and mobile platforms to drive owned earned and shared channels to engage current and prospective employees and build Visa’s Purpose story.
  • Drive best-in-class communications for Purpose, including but not limited to experiential, marketing collateral, promotions, news releases, events (internal and external), fact sheets, executive briefing materials and social/digital content.
  • Drive reputation building stories with a global view and coordinate with regional communications partners to drive programs.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with media and event platforms – both nationally and globally –to promote Visa’s Purpose/CR story.  
  • Ensure success is met by defining key performance indicators that are aligned with business and brand goals.
  • Support ongoing budget management and account management support.
  • Reports to Senior Director of Global CR Communications.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 5 or more years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • 9+ years of marketing, public relations or communications experience. Previous agency experience preferred.
  • Experience program managing, developing comms plans and content calendars across multiple platforms.
  • "Hands-on" team player with outstanding project management and execution skills.
  • Self-starter and problem-solver, who is nimble, flexible and comfortable working in an environment where priorities can change quickly.
  • Outstanding media relations skills, with experience pitching and developing stories and cultivating media relationships over the long term.
  • Experience partnering with legal, government relations and public affairs partners
  • Skilled at using social media / content creation to advance reputation goals and in response to crisis situations.
  • Track record developing and implementing compelling narratives to advance corporate reputation.
  • Experience in partnership development for social purpose platforms.
  • Ability to communicate information effectively and accurately, verbally or in writing. across multiple disciplines. Can synthesize large amounts of data and distill key points clearly, succinctly and quickly
  • Proven ability to think ahead, engage proactively and take initiative.
  • Self-starter. Able to work independently as needed.
  • A blend of agency and in-house experience preferred.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
