Team Summary

The Digital & Fintech Partnerships team is responsible for identifying, structuring, closing and managing strategic partnerships, alliances and commercial deals. Digital & Fintech Partnerships works in Visa’s Product and Solutions teams (functions and services) and across the Visa Business Solutions, Merchant Sales and Acquiring and with Visa AP Corporate Development and Ventures teams to identify and pursue a new partner base of Issuing & Acquiring platforms, service providers and ecosystem participants in the payments industry across AP. 

What a Director – Global Digital & Fintech Partnerships does at Visa:

The Director, Global Digital & Fintech Partnerships is responsible for overseeing partnerships with key Global Digital & Fintech Partners based in the AP region. The role requires you to identify and implement business development opportunities as well as develop and implement specific scalable programs.  As a point person on these partners, you will work to educate and support country teams such as partnerships leads, MSA, business development and marketing on specific programs and opportunities as well as align partner goals at the global level

The role requires an experienced relationship and/or business development professional who can identify potential opportunities, develop the tactics and influence the cross functional teams needed to bring them to fruition. The Digital & Fintech Partnerships team works closely with Visa’s Product & Solutions team as well as other stakeholders such as Processing, CyberSource, Risk, Finance, Marketing, etc. to execute partnership agreements and manage co-creation activities with deliverables that are typically highly complex, strategic, and cross-functional in nature.

Why this is important to Visa

You will be responsible for managing few of the most important Global Fintech partners in AP. In this role you will have to develop and execute customized account strategy, objectives and plans to increase revenue and market share for these partners. You will lead the account and relationship management and sales plan for these accounts, ensuring that the client’s business objectives are met. If successful, these partners will contribute significantly to Visa AP’s growth plans in the next 2 years.

As a significant member of the Digital Partnerships team, you will support in developing the overall partnership strategy, specifically in your focus segment. You will help identify strategic opportunities for Visa capabilities through a strong understanding of the segment and customer's business needs, leveraging Visa solutions across all product platforms. This will help inform Visa’s GTM and engagement strategy with key digital partners.

Qualifications

What you will need:

• A minimum of 10-12 years business experience with related sales and partner management experience in the payments industry
• Demonstrated track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery
• Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
• Multi-national experience
• Strategic thinking and thought leadership
• Teamwork, interpersonal & relationship-building skills, and ability to lead by influence and example
• Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
• Experience “managing up”, building Executive Level communications and delivering presentations
• Ability to work within a complex and often ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is a plus
• Executive presence; Strong written and oral communication, including large-group presentations
• Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible

What will also help:

• Understanding of Visa business and organization strongly preferred
• Experience working in/with start-ups and fintechs
• An impressive record of digital products/services delivered from idea through to commercialization perhaps gathered/obtained in a two sides network and working both sides of the network for product, capability, partnership enablement
• Ability to connect the dots between strategy, product, design, technology to solve complex problems
