Job Description

Visa has recently established a new team to focus on the global B2B travel intermediary ecosystem. The team is responsible for developing and managing key travel intermediary clients globally and building out a best-in-class product suite for the travel industry. The team will build relationships with travel players including OTAs, issuers, merchants, GDSs, FinTechs, travel aggregators etc. 

 

What's is all about?

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new team within Visa, while working on one of the company’s most important strategic priorities. This role, reporting to the Director, Strategy, Operations & Planning, will play a critical role in developing the data, insights and intelligence gathering capability of the Global OTA team. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively with OTA leaders and the wider VBS organisation to understand the data and insights requirements for travel intermediary clients and internal audiences
  • Working closely with clients, account managers and Finance to develop and implement enhanced performance trackers, reports & dashboards for volumes, KPI metrics and other key drivers
  • Leveraging analytics and quantitative data to identify insights and analysis on impacts, opportunities, issues & challenges for clients and Visa’s strategic priorities
  • Comparing client performance against industry best practices with a shrewd eye toward identifying performance and/or profitability improvement opportunity.
  • Developing presentations of complex data and content in an accurate, understandable, and engaging manner.
  • Combining and analyzing disparate data sources and derive insights in a Big Data environment; independently perform analysis to render robust, thoughtful results.
  • Working closely with sales and account management teams to consolidate external data, cluster and competitor trends/research to drive analysis to identify key insight
  • Supporting on client facing initiatives and consulting projects with the objective of producing actionable insights in order to optimise client performance
  • Making sure the data assets within the team are always updated and reflective of the changes in the payments ecosystem or the new Visa mandates/products
  • Providing analytical support to a combination of external Visa clients and colleagues in the OTA team on an ad hoc basis
  • Contributing to strategic projects related to insights, data or other strategic priorities important to the OTA team
  • Collaborate with Regional and Global teams to ensure the full use of existing tools & systems to improve efficiency & controls.  Gather feedback to consolidate common challenges where a system enhancement would provide a scalable solution.
  • Collaborate and assess market intelligence and research needs across key corridors and markets. Contribute towards the development of strategy to procure and generate market level intelligence to support and inform auth improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Previous relevant work experience in finance, data analysis, sales operation, finance, etc, working in a role focusing on data analysis and/or insight delivery
  • Must be proficient in all MS Office applications with advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
  • High level of proficiency manipulating data from a variety of sources - Big data skills (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) and/or SQL skills required.
  • Experience visualizing data with tools like Tableau; advanced Tableau skills are highly desirable
  • High proficiency in financial modelling, with commercial understanding of complex business model & the drivers of the payments P&L
  • Understanding of Visa data and finance systems is preferred
  • Attention to detail and ability to structure and analyse sophisticated financial and commercial modelling
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment with significant change, ambiguity and adapting to evolving organisational requirements
  • Communication skills to take complex data and insights output and convey facts to broad audiences.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally in a matrixed organisation, and adapt as necessary to a fast-paced work environment.
  • A genuine passion for the payments & travel ecosystem
  • Employee base is flexible but individual must be available to be in the Visa Paddington office as and when required. Travel across Europe will be required
