Job Description

The Visa Corporate IT group has embarked on a major transformation journey. We will not follow the 'traditional' IT playbook of simply purchasing off the shelf solutions and stitching them together. We are transforming ourselves into a true engineering organization where we put customer experience first, create highly leveraged (and loved) platforms with a heavy emphasis on operational excellence such as ensuring our platforms and services are unbreakable. At Visa we have an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Content Manager with a passion for precision, curiosity, quality, and driving end-user adoption, advocacy, education and satisfaction. Our suite of work tools is ever changing and requires an individual who truly understands the needs of our users and possesses the imagination, skill and persuasive techniques to meet the needs of our driven, diverse and dynamic workforce. 

Responsibilities:

The Content Manager is a steward of a plethora of content that rests on the company’s intranet which all caters to empowering employees with the information they need to stay productive.  This individual will maintain the quality, accuracy and consistency of these sites’ content, navigation and visual design. They are also responsible for managing key projects, engaging and training users, and monitoring the health of the underlying technology, requiring a combination of communications and writing skills and moderate technical abilities and understanding.

Responsibilities also include:

Content Development and Management

  • Design and build site content that is aesthetically pleasing, concise and informative
  • Provide advisement to other content owners who manage and maintain information on our sites
  • Serve as primary liaison to our community of content owners by providing training and consultation when necessary
  • Establish and administer content governance in accordance with the web standards outlined by Visa
  • Support intranet initiatives, including writing, editing, developing websites/pages, and graphics
  • Manage intranet content, ensuring corporate and stakeholder content remains up-to-date, fresh and engaging to employees
  • Perform content audits on a regular basis to ensure content health, value and accuracy
  • Maintain strong communication between our organization and the main stakeholders and user groups that rely on our content
  • Foster continued adoption and engagement of our sites

 

Site Performance and Maintenance

  • Monitor site analytics and report on key performance indicators
  • Maintain sound information architecture (site navigation) ​
  • Support projects to improve our websites and deliver new content/tools based on employee needs
  • Liaise with the IT department on special projects and technical issues
  • Manage common administrative tasks for our sites and liaise with IT staff when necessary

 

Future Enhancements and Social Intranet Content

  • Support initiatives to develop new, unique and premium content through channels such as social media
  • Stay up-to-date with intranet trends, understand the market and use employee research and data to inform future updates
  • Help drive the intranet toward a user-generated content model, including written content, photos, videos and blogging
  • Provide additional project-based support as needed across the Employee Communications team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Information Technology, Marketing, Communications, Management, Business, Project Management, Finance or Economics
  • 5+ years of Communications experience
  • 5+ years of implementing and/or managing web sites or intranets
  • Working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (especially Adobe Experience Manager, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) is strongly desired
  • Strong understanding of the Microsoft Suite of Tools
  • Experience in training the Microsoft Suite of Tools is a huge plus
  • Knowledge of Internet/Intranet industry and social media standards
  • SharePoint knowledge a plus
  • Basic understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • Experience interpreting Web analytics
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office, Photoshop, HTML editor tools, and social media applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including copy editing and proofreading
  • Understanding of User Experience and Design Thinking principals, tools and techniques
  • Strong customer service and analytical skills required 
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Project management, leadership and decision-making skills
