Within this organization, the Legal & Compliance Information Technology team supports full life-cycle delivery and ongoing support of strategic technology initiatives for the Legal & Compliance business units, and the global employee community. This position will report to the Director of Legal & Compliance Technology, as an individual contributor.

As a Sr. SW Engineer, job duties and projects may include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and enhance web and database software applications using open source technologies to support Visa’s Legal and Compliance business operations
  • Configure and implement packaged applications and develop integrations with other packaged applications or custom applications in our ecosystem
  • Review business requirements and develop detailed system architecture, technical designs, pseudo code and data flow documentations
  • Work with multiple engineering teams and collaborate to deliver secure, high performing and scalable solutions within expected timelines
  • Participate in code reviews of peers, develop best practices
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks/deliverables to maximize business impact/benefit
  • Triage system/solution defects, perform root cause analysis and develop resolution plans in a timely manner
  • Work with minimum daily guidance to complete assigned tasks successfully

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with 3+ years of Software Development Experience.
  • Development experience using Python, PL-SQL, SQL
  • Experience in system integration with 3rd party APIs, data exchange and use of encryption technologies 
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, MySql, MS SQL and/or Postgres SQL
  • Familiarity with database architecture and design; Ability to develop data models

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in developing test strategy, release and code management processes including either TFS, Git, CVS, or Subversion (SVN)
  • Development experience using Shell, Javascript, HTML
  • Knowledge of RESTful web services and frameworks such as Flask and/or Django

Additional Information

Work Hours:

  • This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements: ​​​​​​

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
