Job Description

What’s it all about?

This role requires an DevOps software engineer who wants to work in an agile cross-functional DevOps development team. The team is currently responsible for operational activities in pre-production environments, providing support for the OVN application build teams, which is a long term and exciting commitment making use of Go, Kafka, Docker and NoSql databases in a micro-services and web-service architecture, leveraging configuration automation tools such as Puppet and operational tools such as Splunk, Sysdig, Elasticsearch.

The team additionally have a key responsibility for creating DevOps tools and capabilities both to aid the current build activities and for the long term running of the application, for example CI/CD pipelines, test automation, operational monitoring.

A successful candidate would have a working knowledge of most of the technologies in common use in a DevOps team with a deep understanding of one or more and a desire to learn more. More products will be added over time, which could bring more technologies into the remit of the team, so flexibility, and a desire to learn is key. Additionally, experience with operating system internals, networking protocols and file systems will be beneficial.

The ideal candidate has demonstrable experience of working as a member of a team who implement, maintain and support Dev Ops CI/CI, infrastructure and other capabilities in an enterprise grade environment.
