Job Description

The Sales Compensation Director role is a unique opportunity that calls for a skilled, hands-on, analytical professional who will lead Sales compensation planning for the CyberSource and Authorize.Net business units.  This person will be responsible for Sales Compensation Design and Planning and related analytics.  In addition, the person may be responsible for defining and documenting Sales policies, updating compensation documents, etc. as needed to balance work-load within the Sales Compensation team.

This is a mid-senior position, and as such, the candidate must possess strong knowledge of Sales Compensation.  In addition, the candidate should have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner effectively with peers and Sales leaders.  This role reports to the Senior Director, Sales Compensation and will manage 1-2 processing analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead semi-annual Sales Compensation planning process.  Design all aspects of Sales Compensation plans and plan components including rates, accelerators, and SPIFFS for several sales teams with variable compensation.  Gauge and analyze the efficacy of existing plans and proposed changes on commissions, incentives, and budgets

  • In partnership with Sales Operations and the Data Analytics team, lead the quota setting process including synthesizing and communicating quota methodology and implications to senior Sales and Sales Operations leadership

  • Partner with Finance on commissions budget planning, forecasting and accruals

  • Provide analytical support (assessment of historical data, pipeline, etc.) and ad-hoc research and analysis on other related variable pay projects as necessary including leading several aspects of the quarterly Sales Governance process

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 8-10 years of sales compensation experience with progressively increasing responsibility and complexity of work

  • Strong knowledge of sales incentive compensation concepts, sales data tracking processes, and methodologies

  • Ability to manipulate large data sets and conduct scenario analyses/modelling.  Keen focus on accuracy

  • Advanced skills required in Salesforce.com, Excel, and Power Point.  Familiarity with Tableau a plus

  • Excellent verbal, analytical and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter with exemplary organization skills.  Must possess “can do” attitude

  • Demonstrated experience of successfully executing against tight deadlines, with a collaboration mind-set

  • Must be able to skilfully prioritize and manage concurrent projects and issues

  • Experience in working with cross-functional/cross-departmental and virtual teams

Additional Information

Travel Requirements:

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work up to 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements: ​​​​​​

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
