Job Description
Visa Global Product Design is comprised of five specializations: Design, Research & Accessibility, Design Engineering, Design Operations and Content Creation & Design Strategy.
Design Operations is looking for a Design Ops Manager (Producer) to join our small, yet nimble team. Collectively, Design Ops is responsible for partnering across our organization to transform and optimize the impact, productivity, scalability and culture of Design at Visa. You will work with the Global and North America Design leads and business stakeholders in Global Product, Technology, Product Design, Innovation, legal, HR, finance and sourcing to empower design teams to do their best work. Your role is to coordinate communications, manage resources, drive the team project intake process and develop and manage project plans, milestones and deliverables. Overall, you will lead the team through the logistics of delivering outstanding quality outcomes for Visa and our stakeholders.
The Design Ops Manager (Producer) is a detailed-oriented and strategic thinker who can apply frameworks and systems to keep track of the many moving parts necessary for projects and teams to be successful. This is a new role and you will have the opportunity not only to manage programs and projects, but to co-create the operational models that will lead to the greatest value for our customers. You won’t be alone either. The Global Strategic Design Operations function, while new, is expanding rapidly. We are working together, across all parts of Visa’s Global Design organization, to help create standards in design culture, team development, workflow and tooling and overall design team governance. You’ll be a central contributor to helping the team develop these and other initiatives.
Although we prefer candidates be located in one of our Design hubs—Austin, San Francisco and New York City—we are open to the possibility of a remote work arrangement should it suit all parties.
Role responsibilities include:
· Support the Global Product Design team to deliver successful projects for its clients—internal and external
· Continuously seek out ways to improve the processes, practice and culture of the Design team
· Manage the project intake process for multiple Global Product Design teams
· Work with other parts of the Global and North American design organization at Visa to create a singular design culture, known globally as best-in-class for innovation, creativity, quality and client impact
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop project plans, define requirements, manage resources and oversee project/product milestones and deliverables
· Develop, manage and communicate to design leadership key metrics on the health of the Design team’s operations
· Conduct regular status meetings with point persons from relevant teams to assure the coordination of all projects is up-to-date and clearly communicated
· Collaborate with team members on horizontal initiatives, as well as take on responsibilities in other parts of the greater design organization as resourcing requires
· Demonstrate a clear link between daily work and the organization’s mission
· Assist in planning and execution for design communications, all-hands, share-outs, executive reviews, etc.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
· Minimum of 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 2 years of work experience with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree)
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 6+ years with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree) in Design, Design Management, Business or related field
· 5+ years experience with cross-functional design teams, including requirements gathering and participating in the analysis to solve for complex design decisions
· 2+ years of direct work experience in a creative agency or consulting environment (agency or client side) in a relevant role is required: e.g. Producer, Program Manager, Creative Operations, Design Operations or Project Management

· Ability to find order in white space environments, create momentum around priorities
· Resilient and positive attitude, even in challenging circumstances
· Experience in a complex, non-design-led organization is a plus
· Project Management certification is a plus, but not required
· Payment Industry experience is a plus, but not required

Work Hours
Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.
Travel Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
