Job Description
Visa Global Product Design is comprised of five specializations: Design, Research & Accessibility, Design Engineering, Design Operations and Content Creation & Design Strategy.
Content Creation & Design Strategy is looking for a UX Content Design Lead to join our growing team. We are a diverse group of content creators, storytellers, strategists and design (and payments) enthusiasts who believe Content is the connective tissue between the product experience, the Visa brand and our end users. In this role, you’ll work hand in hand with UX designers, researchers and product managers to produce UX- and brand-relevant content strategies and copy solidly informed by human-centered design standards. The responsibilities of the UX Content Design Lead range from the highly tactical (fine-tuning copy) to the highly strategic (facilitating content critiques or leading workshops on topics like content design best practices). The ideal candidate is an experienced individual contributor and strong communicator who enjoys working cross-functionally to create cohesive B2B2C experiences. The candidate must possess an extremely developed sense of design, a love of language/copy and impeccable attention to detail.
Although we prefer candidates be located in one of our three Design hubs—Austin, San Francisco and New York City—we are open to the possibility of a remote work arrangement should it suit all parties.
Role responsibilities include:
· Collaborate with marketing, research, design and product teams to understand requirements, identify users' content needs and align on business goals in a fast-paced environment with quick iterative cycles
· Create connected content experiences, including messaging strategy and voice and tone, across the customer journey
· Advocate for content discovery and planning, ensuring the right content activities are prioritized and executed
· Develop and communicate content strategy recommendations to project teams, including audit findings (and gap analysis), content types, template requirements, taxonomies, error messaging, metadata frameworks, documentation, etc.
· Evangelize content design best practices by facilitating content critiques, leading workshops on topics like brand voice and advising partners on content execution
· Create and maintain tools, guides, and templates to empower colleagues to create their own great content and scale the discipline
Qualifications
· Minimum of 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years of work experience with a Masters Degree (or other advanced degree)
Preferred Qualifications
· Minimum of 7–10 years of work experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, English, HCI or equivalent experience; Masters Degree in related field
· Experience working on digital products as a content strategist, content designer, writer or related position
Additional Information
Essential Functions
· Advanced knowledge of human-centered design principles and working within a Product Design org
· Mastery of UX-focused content strategy and copy, as well as cross-functional communication
· Ability to translate complex concepts into content that is clear, concise and human
· Ability to articulate the business goals behind content and content strategies
· An understanding of user experience and content optimization principles across channels and devices
· Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving abilities
· Basic knowledge of Information Architecture
· Ability to work independently and manage one’s time while executing on multiple concurrent projects
· Ability to mentor junior staff and foster growth of the Content practice
· Participation in cross-team goal setting in partnership with Director of Content
· Detail-oriented and well-organized
· Familiarity with templated and content management systems
· Payment industry experience preferred, but not required
· Familiarity with design systems (and the role of content within them) preferred, but not required
· Portfolio of relevant work samples

Work Hours
Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.
Travel Requirements
This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements
This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
