Job Description

Senior Manager Business Development, Visa U.S. Acquiring, is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing sales strategies for US Processors and ISO’S. This position is responsible for selling Visa products and service offerings to a defined portfolio of clients. The selected candidate will work closely with internal and external partners to develop strategic account plans in support of driving commercial outcomes with clients. This position will also be responsible for working on initiatives in support of the US Regional teams growth strategies.

Job Scope

This role is responsible for developing account strategies to increase revenues from existing accounts, winning new accounts and ensuring implementation of annual goals and plans in the U.S.  Qualified candidates have an ability to build relationships externally while also demonstrating a desire and capability to excel within the organization. This sales and business development role has direct accountability for sales results in support of assigned annual scorecard goals. The selected candidate will utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the client’s business objectives are met and that the performance metrics of their payment portfolios are maximized. The position will work closely with our finance, product, and other internal departments to handle client specific data and analytics, strategic planning support for the U.S Acquiring team, and other reporting responsibilities.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and execute customized account and or portfolio plans in support of Visa specific goals and objectives.

  • Create and execute against new sales and revenue generating opportunities.

  • Provide strategic value for clients by shaping sales strategies that align with client needs and marketplace trends.

  • Solve for business issues that directly impact the ability to drive scorecard outcomes.

  • Expand and deepen existing client relationships by demonstrating value of Visa products and services.

  • Establish and maintain C-suite level relationships with assigned clients.

  • Utilize a consultative sales approach that ensures that the clients business objectives are met and that performance goals of their payment portfolios are optimized.

  • Prepare proposals and negotiate in support of mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key client constituents and the Visa organization.

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding the clients business model and go to market strategies and tactics.

  • Actively lead and execute assigned projects in support of US Regional team strategy.

 

 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • 8 year’s experience with a BS/BA or 5 years with an Advanced degree or 2 years with a PhD

Preferred Requirements:

  • 9 year’s experience with a BS/BA or 7 year’s experience with an Advanced degree or 3 years with a PhD

  • Demonstrated experience with Acquirer, Processor and ISO markets.

  • Strong industry knowledge of transaction processing and eCommerce acceptance solutions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of IT and Operational payment processing environments.

  • Demonstrated track record of sales planning , managing and closing complex deals.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to establish effective relationships with all levels within assigned client base.

  • Proven ability to implement strategic initiatives with efficiency, professionalism and with demonstrated trouble shooting/problem solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Confidence and ability to effectively create and deliver presentations to all audiences up to the executive levels

  • Ability to coordinate internal and external resources and nurture cross functional relationships

  • Ability to negotiate business agreements and enhance existing and new relationships

  • Demonstrated understanding of financial indicators to measure business performance and an ability to summarize business and financial data in a useful manner for planning and decision making.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

 

Additional Information

Travel: Incumbent must be able to travel up to 35%

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds
