In order for Visa to deliver on the vision of the best way to pay and be paid for everyone, everywhere, the IAAS Systems and Storage & Engineering (ISSE) team – a part of the Operations & Infrastructure organization – must provide best-in-class infrastructure services that are secure, scalable, continuously available, and run on software-defined infrastructures.

 

Job Description

If you're passionate about and experienced with infrastructure Automation, you can be part of ISSE Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Team, which is responsible for the private cloud environment and associated infrastructure management solutions at Visa, specifically in designing, integrating and deploying multi-hypervisor based cloud and Kubernetes based container platforms. Your main focus will be on Ansible, Terraform, containers orchestration, and cloud technologies. As part of this self-driven team, you will have total ownership of the solutions we provide for our customers making availability, performance, security, and reliability critical to our success. We need to do this all at global scale, as well, so continual, iterative improvements in our process, technology, tools, and automation will be essential to allowing us to meet those goals as well as focus on the things that add value for our players.

The ideal candidate is a technology savvy with deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Microservices, Golang, Python, Ansible and CI/CD process. Able to work on opensource projects, able to contribute and commit the code to upstream opensource projects.

Qualifications

Minimum 4 years of experience as DevOps engineer working on automating infrastructure tasks.

At least 2 years of experience managing production infrastructure with kubernetes

Experience in automating at least one public cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

Good system administration capabilities with good understanding of virtualization (KVM, VSphere, Hyper-V), containerization(Docker) & cloud(Kubernetes), and their associated management challenges and viable solutions

Practical administration experience in Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) as a server platform, practical experience of organization of highly available cluster

Technology background in the Compute, Network and Storage space with current understanding of implementation of vendor solutions by HPE, Cisco, Dell/EMC, Netapp, Hitachi

Experience in automating system tasks and infrastructure using a scripting language with configuration management tools (Ansible), infrastructure orchestration tools (Ansible, Terraform, Argo), and automated imaging tools (Packer)

Able to understand the security tools and best practices: CIS Benchmarking, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning, system auditing

               Experience performing full stack load testing in order to identify and address hardware, network, system, or application bottlenecks

Key skills required (in the order of priority)

    Ansible, Terraform, SCCM

    Docker Swarm/UCP, Kubernetes, Openshift

    Experience in ServiceMesh

    RHEL Linux & Windows, container OS

    Good Understanding of network concepts, management protocols

    Knowledge in bash, Perl

    Code repository & version control – Git or Subversion

    CI/CD (Jenkins, Spinnaker)

    Prometheus/Grafana

    Splunk/ELK, Kafka, Fluentd

Additional Information

Work Hours This position requires the incumbent to be available during core business hours.

Travel Requirements This position requires the incumbent to travel for work less than 10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds.
