Job Description

Visa’s Strategic Corporate Analysis team is looking for a highly analytical Cross-border Senior Financial Analyst with a strong analytical background. Our team directly supports Visa’s President, CFO, CEO and other senior leaders throughout the company with financial and business analysis.

This is a unique opportunity and calls for an ambitious and hard-working professional who will help establish a new corporate function within finance, focused on cross-border transactions.  The ideal candidate will have strong technical and analytical skills and be a highly collaborative team player. This position will be based in Visa’s San Francisco office.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyze the trends emerging within our cross-border business by country, merchant category, product type, etc. and evaluate the factors driving their evolution
  • Distinguish one-off and sustainable effects to support cross-border forecasting
  • Help identify business levers to support cross-border transaction growth
  • Answer ad-hoc requests from business lines and the executive team on cross-border
  • Establish and share best practices among cross-border analyses at the regional level
  • Build strong knowledge of Visa's business through constant communication with partners

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, engineering, accounting, mathematics, economics, statistics or related quantitative field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant financial analysis work experience including forecasting and budgeting preferred.
  • Outstanding analytical skills; able to resolve business problems with well-structured analyses
  • Competency to contribute to lively discussion with ability to quickly test findings and assertions against a financial body of knowledge
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and produce time sensitive deliverables
  • Expert skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrates well-developed strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaborates easily and successfully with all levels of management in a matrix organization structure.
  • Operates with minimal supervision and is able to make informed, well-reasoned decisions independently.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented.
  • Intellectually curious with a particular interest in the rapidly evolving payment industry landscape.
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills and strong attention to detail; able to perform financial modeling and analysis with rigor and accuracy to quantify impact of investments and explain viability of new business models
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse team and produce time sensitive deliverables
  • Enthusiastic work ethic, passion for learning, and acute professional curiosity; able to solve problems with balance of independence and well-solicited input

  • This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, reach with hands and arms, and bend or lift up to 25 pounds
