The Visa Digital Ticketing team, acquired by VISA in Oct 2019 have been a technology supplier to the public transit industry for 20 years, providing software solutions for smart card and secure mobile ticketing. We have extensive experience in deploying a UK government mandated domestic closed loop standard called ITSO.

The team includes: Sales and Business Development, Operations and Customer Support, Software Development, I.T. Product Management, and On Card & Embedded Technology groups.

Customers include public and private transit operators, systems integrators, local government and the ITSO standards body itself, for whom we built and manage the key management system that underpins the security of all UK ITSO based ticketing. We also designed and supply the ITSO SAM which resides in all gates and terminals accepting ITSO based tickets.

Following acquisition by Visa, the team are working on many product development and customer delivery projects to expand our product suite which will drive the uptake of EMV across the transit ecosystem.

What's the role about?

As a Project Manager, you will work with many peer groups within the Digital Ticketing team as well as multiple teams across Visa.  The role is customer-facing, providing the primary contact point for customer project delivery.  

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Delivery of Visa software solutions as defined by the Project SOW and applicable acceptance criteria or agreed scope
  • Delivery of Visa software solutions in alignment with organizational processes and procedures
  • Single Point of Contact for client day-to-day project activities
  • Understand the technical solutions being delivered and key functionalities the solutions provide
  • Clearly able to define project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Provide concise and accurate forecasting of project work effort for resource and financial reporting activities
  • Create and maintain a detailed project schedule to monitor and track progress.
  • Report progress to project stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Create, manage and maintain comprehensive project documentation such as project plan, logs, actions and decisions lists
  • Manage project scope, identifying changes to the project requirements, with impact analysis on project scope, schedule, and costs
  • Regularly undertake/identify risk management opportunities to minimise and mitigate project risks
  • Assist Sales and Technical Sales through RFP/RFQ stages for work breakdown and work effort estimations
  • Close out projects and provide relevant lessons learned or KPI information.
  • Maintain information security in projects, the workplace and in the organization
  • Willingness and ability to travel abroad to client locations (<10%)
  • Provide direction and management to the project team
  • Support client questions with appropriate involvement from development resources and provide accurate direction to project team(s)
  • Successfully manage the relationship and expectations with the client and all stakeholders
  • Work with Management and the Resource Manager to ensure adequate resource allocation and priority to your projects
  • Ensure appropriate internal communication to project team members and management for priority or escalation items
  • Ensure appropriate external communication with client project teams to ensure the status of deliveries and activities are known and understood
  • Ensure internal project plans and reports are regularly updated with known acceptance dates, near term deliverables and project risks
  • Chair relevant lessons learned meetings and provide management feedback on outcome

Qualifications

What we're after...

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline
  • Previous experience of the following would be beneficial:
    • Management of complex software integration projects with multiple third parties
    • Management of full lifecycle software development projects
    • Customer-facing experience in a consultacy capacity
    • Host centre deployment or migration
    • Cyber security risk mitigation and remediation
    • Configuration change management
