Job Description

We are looking for a Head of University Relations & Early Career Programs to lead the teams and global programs that attract, develop and hire diverse, early career talent. Visa has built a great foundation for early career talent programs, hiring more than 900 interns, new college grads and program participants annually. Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive, diverse, and global university relations recruitment strategy that delivers an outstanding candidate experience, and improves our ability to source, identify and select early career talent to build the future leaders of our company
  • Develop and implement a strategic and influential university engagement model in partnership with the business that aligns with our goals and objectives.
  • Establish and implement development programs and retention strategies for newly hired graduates that may include, but are not limited to, building formal networks and mentoring programs, providing access and opportunity for community outreach, identifying professional development opportunities (courses, career development, etc.), and enabling managers to develop a unique part of the organization’s workforce.
  • Build and execute innovative ways to scale and support our existing rotational development, Olympian/Paralympian, internship, new college grad and scholarship programs.
  • Establish credibility as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders, including regional leadership, with the proven ability to influence and gain executive sponsorship to further strengthen our campus partnerships.
  • Partner with the I&D team, global recruiting teams, HR partners and business partners to develop a comprehensive early career talent engagement and acquisition strategy to meet our diversity goals.
  • Ensure representation at recruiting events, both physically and virtually, develop strategic partnerships and grow brand affinity on campus and collaborate with student organizations and faculty that will support our hiring strategy.
  • Develop headcount and budget strategy and embed across HR and the business
  • Ensure adherence to all compliance and acquisition processes including candidate data integrity is captured in the CRM and ATS accurately.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 12 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 10 years of experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD) or at least 8 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in university recruitment and in building and maintaining relationships with schools (e.g. career centers, professors, university leadership, and student organizations).
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, leading, and managing large-scale transformational programs.
  • Data driven, with experience in strategic planning, diagnosing pipeline health and funnel conversion rates.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing against innovative University Recruiting strategies
  • Proven track record of implementing best practices, driving change across organizations, and promoting the benefits of early career talent.
  • Passion and excitement for attracting, developing, and retaining early career talent
  • Ability to foster trust, influence, coach and guide early career talent, business leaders, and team

Additional Information

Travel Requirement:

  • This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time; may vary based on location.

Mental/Physical Requirements

  • This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
