Position Summary

Visa’s Digital and Developer Platform team is building a new generation of products to facilitate commerce in everyone’s digital and mobile lives. Our focus is to build intuitive features that expose profound new value for our customers, merchants and developers.

The role is a self-organized Sr Software Testing Engineer with hands on manual testing and test automation experience.

In this position, you are first and foremost a passionate and talented Rest engineering developer who can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams. Your strong technical leadership, testing and debugging skills, plus problem-solving abilities and coding, is just a start. You must be dedicated to testing out all the features of the products, spotting the tiniest irregularities, and providing insightful feedbacks to the development team. You must be willing to go beyond the routine and prepared to do a little bit of everything.

This position is based in Beijing, China.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in creating test plan and designing test cases based on the requirements of the features and test strategies
• Execute tests accurately in regression test cycle and deliver test report in a timely manner
• Document and track defects from test execution
• Create reports showing automation v/s manual test cases status
• Define and track quality metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts
• Collaborate with development team to analyze, debug and resolve design and code issues with dev engineers to narrow down issue's root cause
• Work on mobile/backend automation test, developing and maintaining automation cases
• Work on mobile/backend manual testing
• Build test tools to improve quality and performance
• Develop software to augment existing test automation tools
• Setup, configure, and maintain test environments
• Conduct new feature and technique research to improve test coverage
• Provide feedback and share ideas to peers/other team members to improve quality and user experience
• Work closely with quality assurance and certification engineers and provide technical guidance to peers as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master degree in computer science or related field
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience of QA engineer with black/grey box functional testing on iOS and Android platforms
• Solid knowledge in testing methodologies and techniques, especially with mobile testing
• Rich experience with designing, managing and implementing test cases
• Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages including but not limited to: C/C++, Java, JavaScript or Go
• Familiar with at least one popular database
• Familiar with Linux basic usage
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• Self-motivated and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team

Good to have

• Experience in scrum methodology development project
• Experience in mobile automation test toolset(Appium or other automation test tools)
• Knowledge in build integration tools, Maven/Git/Jenkins is a plus
