The Buyer Digital Enablement team at Visa imagines and builds the APIs and services that power the next generation of digital-first Visa payment credentials. Aligned with the same global team that looks after Visa’s core credit, debit and prepaid products, we create webservices and platforms that enable instant issuance, account activation and provisioning of digital credentials. We also power alert services and card controls that empower visa cardholders to maintain strong awareness of account use, and dynamically manage where their accounts can be used. Our customers are developers at leading-edge Fintechs, issuer processors, Banking-as-a-Service providers and the world’s largest and innovative financial institutions. 

Job Description

You will join a team that combines expertise across multiple domains including modern, developer-friendly API design, digital issuance of payments credentials, card program management and tokenized digital card processing and payment industry wallet dynamics. Your product focus will be the Visa In-App-Provisioning API and future products related to the instant issuance and activation of Visa card credentials.  

You are confident driving product feature design and implementation in an agile development process. You will be testing assumptions, resolving uncertainties and ambiguities to drive growth and expand product-market fit fit and drive growth in product adoption and usage. This process will include early prototyping and gathering continuous iterative feedback from prospective clients, stakeholders and solution partners. 

You possess communication and collaboration skills needed to bring teams together for successful product launch and growth. You are curious and a problem solver, not afraid of tackling new domains or questions you don’t know the answers to yet. 

You are excited to work on APIs and services that could enable thousands of global financial inclusion to bring more convenient, reliable payment services to hundreds of millions of people around the world. 

The position will be primarily based in Visa’s Bay-Area office, with significant interaction with (and opportunity for occasional travel to) engineering teams in Singapore. 

  • Provide key inputs to Visa’s digital issuance and related strategies with other product leaders 

  • Define new product features and enhancements, working and prioritizing features in an agile way as market needs and development resources evolve. 

  • Influence product and technology strategy and direction, and product/user experience 

  • Track and measure success against KPI and SLA metrics  

  • Work closely with technology architects, and engineers to facilitate and guide the product development process (through ideation, grooming, acceptance testing and rollout) 

  • Work with operation and engineering teams to develop and roll out operational support models  

  • Perform User Acceptance Testing and ensure requirements were understood and implemented as requested  

  • Partner with business and technology teams globally to communicate and support sales enablement for new features, listen and gather feedback, and cultivate insights to inform product roadmaps 

 

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
  • Curious problem solver with a solution-oriented mindset  

  • Able to translate client or user needs into technical requirements for developers  

  • Able to consider how technical issues or tradeoffs might affect business or customers  

  • Empathetic, kind, and mindful of not just your perspective but also what matters to customers, stakeholders and partner teams  

  • Passionate about getting things done and shipping product  

  • Opinionated about good software service development methodologies, developer engagement and modern, RESTful API architectures  

  • Well versed in distributed systems design, developer experience, API usability, and performance concerns  

  • Technical Degree in CS/Engineering or demonstrated equivalent technical expertise through past experience  

  • Experience with Payment Network systems or general issuer card processing is a plus  

  • Familiar with the level of security, privacy, compliance and associated risk-management considerations required to build highly trustworthy and reliable internet-based financial applications  

  • Excited to work on APIs and services that could enable more convenient and reliable payment services for hundreds of millions of people around the world  

  • Subject matter expertise on global fintech trends and players is an asset  

  • Effective and empathic communicator in any context from executive boardroom to technical war room environments

Physical Requirements

  • The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.

Work Hours

  • Incumbent must make themselves available during core business hours.
