Job Description

What's it all about?

The successful candidate will be the driving force behind a new portfolio of fleet and fuel products that have been developed by and launched by Visa, and take these solutions to the Fleet and Mobility sector in Europe. This is a new role and opportunity.

This is a highly commercial role with a focus on major sales opportunities in the region. The role includes:

  • Opportunity identification
  • Deal structuring
  • Pricing
  • Product design (including digital)
  • Developing written proposals
  • Managing and closing deals

You will be supported by local market team and a strong central product team, will focus on more complex deals, and be targeted on sales success.

Day to day, the successful candidate will:

  • Have a detailed understanding of all elements of the fleet and fuel vertical, including products with a specific focus on products used by SMEs across the region.
  • Appreciate the complexities of the oil companies, their distribution models, and their fleet management products.
  • Be aware of the multiple players that support how businesses in Europe source and operate commercial vehicles and company car fleets, and how these players interact, and be able to understand the opportunities for payments through Visa.

In addition, they will have an understanding of the new technologies that are transforming this sector, including telematics, mobile payment, connected car technologies, and the future of electric and hydrogen fleet services. An understanding of the growing market for business Mobility services, and how this thinking will impact the vertical, will also be important to your role selling the new Visa solutions.

  • The successful applicant will possess product management or product development experience in a fleet card service provider, bank, commercial card issuers or oil company. This experience will need to include direct experience with Fleet cards and evidence of direct sales or sales management experience.

  • The individual will need to have very strong experience of the Fleet Card sector in Europe. They will need to demonstrate an appreciate of the business drivers and challenges of the oil companies, lease companies, and Mobility service providers, and the impacts on the vertical creates by Regulatory change and the current economic climate. A knowledge of the electric vehicle industry will be important as well.

  • Strong financial, analytical, collaborative and product skills that align with leading major opportunities will be required. Evidence of managing large sales deals will be useful and a ‘self starter’ approach will be needed.

  • Innovative thinking and solution design, and collaborative work will be required, including the supporting client incentive packages that deliver value. This will require close working with Processing, Acquiring, and other Visa teams.

  • Have credibility to negotiate with Clients, strong relationship skills to gain the confidence of clients, and the ability to establish open and transparent relationships.

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical. Ideally, you will be comfortable representing Visa with our customers and in public forums, and reflecting the Visa values. One or more European languages is a plus. The ability to travel across Europe when required for internal and external meetings and pitches when required.
