Job Description

What's it all about?

The UK&I is Visa’s second biggest cluster globally, with strong established fintech landscape, which presents a significant growth opportunity. These new fintechs allow Visa to diversify our customer base and in addition capture new payment flows

This role is multi-facetted and the responsibilities include:

  • Client Engagement with the existing global Fintech customers. This is any Fintech that operates in more than two Visa regions.

  • Ensuring portfolios are being optimised for growth. Whether this means the introduction of new products (example lending solutions, subscription services) or expansion into new markets or just growing their existing customer base (number of Transactions and Purchase Volume)

  • In partnership with the Solutions (previously product) team, development of use cases that consider firstly, the Fintech priorities and then evolving consumer needs whilst considering the changes in the market landscape

  • Being an ongoing ambassador for Fintechs within Visa but also outside of Visa; participating on the various conferences, futures events, hackathons and Visa Everywhere events

    • Partner with the regional Fintech and Enablers team to ensure Visa is bringing the best value to its Fintech and Intermediaries – BIN sponsors, Processors and Programme Managers

    • Ensure ongoing Thought Leadership and sharing with global deal and account team (Visa colleagues in SF). This is a two-way process and expectation is regular engagement with the other regions and markets

    • Be the internal voice and advocates for our larger scale Fintechs; Visa needs to evolve our business, operations, structures and processes to meet the needs of these new customers. They are quite different to the incumbent banks we have traditional served. Therefore voicing these expectations and needs internally is very important

  • In conclusion, whilst this is a Client Engagement role, there is a requirement to have some strategic oversight for managing the Fintech business end to end – from sales prospecting, business development, proposing a commercial framework and deal conclusion right through to Onboarding and execution of solutions plus optimisation of these solutions through a formalised Go-To Market Plan and approach

Qualifications

For this role the key skills required are...

  • This individual should have an entrepreneurial spirit, self-starter with strong thought leadership; with the ability to think and act fairly independently at times – including a strong bias to action and outcome
  • The candidate should have sound knowledge of technology, fintech, innovation and IOT and currently work within either a network, technology, innovation of payment organisation

  • Having knowledge and/or experience of the UK payment market, regulation and market landscape; other industries where there are transferable learnings for example Telco, Insurance etc.
