Job Description

Note: This internship role will be fully virtual. By applying to this position, a future full-time conversion role will be based in the following locations: Foster City, CA, Palo Alto, CA, or San Francisco, CA

We are targeting candidate selections and interviews to take place in January 2021. 

Payments are changing with new players, experiences and expectations. Over half of Visa’s volume is now digital, and many market trends are affecting how Visa and our clients do business. For that reason, the Product team is focused on a holistic product strategy that allows Visa to ship products faster that are more relevant to the local markets in which Visa does business. The organization is at the forefront of thinking and working differently at Visa, particularly as we transform how we design, build and ship products globally for the future.

The MBA Intern will support the Visa Ready program, one of the partnership programs within the fintech and partnerships group. Visa Ready is a partner-facing program/platform that accelerates new payment solution adoption in the ecosystem. This intern will support the Fintech vertical - building a programmatic approach to drive engagement with Visa Ready partners. The intern will ensure certification throughput among the long tail partners and drive programmatic reporting.

Typical projects may include:

  • Drive Strategy for adoption and expansion of Visa Ready programs
  • Develop collateral and content to evangelize and educate partners at scale on the benefits of Visa Ready
  • Implement short, medium and long-term strategic opportunities/products/services working with internal and client teams
  • Develop GTM models to drive better partner engagement post certification


Responsibilities:

  • Continuously improve the program certification, approval and delivery process working with cross-functional teams to ensure client focused excellence
  • Report to and interact with senior management and executives to indicate the status of Fintech and other Visa Ready partnerships
  • Proactively identify and solve complex problems that impact the management, relationship and direction of the business
  • Work within cross-functional teams (internal / external) that include representation from Marketing, Product, Digital, Innovation Centers, Operations, Market Research and Technology.
  • Actively participate and lead various ad-hoc internal projects as assigned and be an evangelist for fintech segment
  • Foster in-depth and productive relationships at all levels with the client and the Visa organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
  • Pursuing an MBA, graduating December 2021 or later
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent scale)
  • Strong communications skills, clear and concise written and spoken communications, and communications that demonstrate professional judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum 2 years of experience in product management, operations, consulting, and/or industry experience in payments
  • Demonstrated track record of planning and managing the partnership through all stages
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and prior experience is building visualization models
  • Prior experience building GTM; new market entry strategic models is a plus
  • Proven ability to partner, communicate and manage/navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
  • Ability to work within a complex and sometimes ambiguous environment, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
  • Team oriented, ethical, empathetic, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible
  • The ability to take on challenges and address problems head-on
